Happy Bonfire Night!

OP posts:
StateofConfusion · 26/11/2012 23:13

Both of my dcs slept through the fire alarm shaky yet if I sneeze 3 miles away I can disturb them both! Hope you get a good nights sleep tonight.

ShakiestDude · 27/11/2012 00:06

dude thread

ShakiestDude · 27/11/2012 00:30

I meant to go to bed 2 hours ago but I'm still here, snuggled in my dressing gown, under a cosy blanket on the sofa, listening to the rain.

I really want to move and go to bed but I just too bloody comfy.

Someone please come and kick my back side, take the iPad out of my hands an kick my sorry ass up the stairs to bed, or I'll be here all night again

StateofConfusion · 27/11/2012 10:18

Whoops I'm a bit late I'm afraid shaky hope you eventually went to bed!

Another crap day in the state household, dd refused to go to sleep until stupidly late, then ds was awake a few times then they were both very grumpy this morning, dd didn't want to go to nursery again but despite the cough she is well enough and the longer I allow her at home the harder to get her back, I feel like shit though, I went through a phase of hating school and I feel so vile making her go :(

Also the cake order I started for a friend, got a text half way through putting it in the oven that they 'forgot' payday is next week and she'll pay me then, really needed the money today as my budget is strictly followed and I'm now down the price of ingredients/decorations/box and board, ofc I've had to say that's ok otherwise I'm left wasting my time and money completely but I am SO annoyed!

YankTeeDoodleDanTee · 27/11/2012 10:31

Bleurgh. Another bad nights sleep compounded by this damn cough. LittleTee is at GP this afternoon after school, so I'm going have them listen to my chest as well.

I am off to London on Saturday for a girlie night out with my mates from the Forty Towers thread. We're all old with young children, if anyone wants to come join us on the thread! Or for a drink on Saturday. It may kill me, the way I feel, but we're hoping we'll get some sympathy booze as I'll be using my stick all weekend. Grin

And I want my money back on my Mirena. What happened to no periods?!?! Although it is very light. (TMI)

YAYA on BFN bonkey.

Shakey I hope you went to bed. ::stern look::

LittleTee told his teacher today 'But I don't want to go to the toilet.' to which we both replied 'Too bad.' So at least they are following through with their end of the bargain.

I should be working but this sofa is too comfy and this coffee too yummy...

SantaKissedBonkeyMollocks · 27/11/2012 10:47

Urgh! Still can't seem to shift this bloody cold!

What time did you get in to bed Shaky ? Grin

ShakiestDude · 27/11/2012 11:30

I did go to bed, not long after my last post last night.

I was just TOO comfy to move.

Oh I would qualify to join the forty towers now Grin

YankTeeDoodleDanTee · 27/11/2012 16:14

Some day I'll remember that no one really gets my humour here on MN.

In a minute people are going to come along and ask me if I'm being bullied. This feels very familiar...

Now I really am going to go do some stuff...

StateofConfusion · 27/11/2012 17:03

Mumsnets a bit odd atm tee just ignore!

YankTeeDoodleDanTee · 27/11/2012 17:22

I'm not upset State. I'm actually highly amused.

I knew the POs would come running. I'm just surprised at some of the people coming across as POs.

EmpressOfTheMadBoxOfFrogs · 27/11/2012 18:10

I think several people are just confused. Either that or they think you're serious.

The Puddlehumpers get you, Tee!

YankTeeDoodleDanTee · 27/11/2012 18:15

They think I'm serious, Empress. That's why I am so amused.

EmpressOfTheMadBoxOfFrogs · 27/11/2012 18:40

Ooh it's not pretty...

YankTeeDoodleDanTee · 27/11/2012 19:25

I'm sure. I haven't hidden it, but I'm not reading it either. Just quietly letting it drop off my TIO.

How are you Empress?

YankTeeDoodleDanTee · 27/11/2012 19:28

Eh. I decided to post again.

MN is truly a strange place. Not just now. Always.

StateofConfusion · 27/11/2012 20:05

I think it gets worse this time of year, darker evenings and what not. We get you tee :)

I'm eating cake off cuts and custard, disgraceful I know, but anyone want some Grin

I may put some christmas decorations up tomorrow... Pretty lights and sparkly things may lift this stupid mood I'm in. Oh and by put them up I mean sit and direct dp.

DreamySleepyNightySnoozySnooze · 27/11/2012 20:29

I just said to Dh the other day that I couldn't believe all these perfect saintly people on mn who say they never judge others. Surely most people do it to some extent. I was starting to think I was an evil, nasty cow. I don't stare or make comments about people, I just judge in my head, but I can't help it!
I got your joke Tee. I think some people deliberately ignore something being a joke so they can make a point about not knowing a poster, not being cliquey, etc. But it was clearly a joke, whether someone knows you or not!

I am resisting putting my decorations up yet State. I plan on doing it on Monday if Ds is well enough for school. He's really not well at the moment. He asked to go to bed at 4pm tonight, so I took him. But then I was texting my Mum telling her how he was, and realised he had been saying the light was hurting his eyes, he was floppy, and his feet were really cold. I phoned the drs and they said to bring him straight in. I woke him up and took him in his PJs. Dr said he has croup and flu with a tummy bug, not nice but a lot better than what had crossed my mind. Poor little guy has never been ill like this before. :(

ShakiestDude · 27/11/2012 20:40

Oh Dreamy the poor little boy, bless him. I hope he's better soon How's the baby? Is the feeding going any better?

Tee it's bonkers out there and mad as a box of greggs sausage rolls. Stay here. ::gives back stern look::

SantaKissedBonkeyMollocks · 27/11/2012 20:45

Oh Dreamy thats poo :(

Must be awful for the little ones!

StateofConfusion · 27/11/2012 21:07

Poor ds1 dreamy hope he's on the mend soon.

Dd still has a cough but is well in herself all day so I have 3hrs each day child free to slowly decorate the house, I get my section date thursday and want to be all prepared incase I'm asked to go in next week, not being able to --tell dp how to do it right-- decorate the house would stress me so were starting tomorrow as it does take us days, can't face doing it at the weekend with the dcs here.

ShakiestDude · 27/11/2012 21:14

This time 3 years ago I had been on labour ward in agony for 12 hours and was begging for an epidural. Ds was born at 11.41 the next day! I've been thinking about it since 9 am and it's a hell of a long time. How the hell did I survive that long in labour? I ended up with a section after pushing for a lifetime 2 hours with him being back to back and refusing to come out.

Happy 3rd Birthday for tomorrow ds!

I've got a hospital appointment tomorrow, so he needs to go to nursery. How the buggery bollocks am I going to get him there once he has opened his presents? He won't want to move.

StateofConfusion · 27/11/2012 21:17

Happy Birthday for tomorrow shakyboy!!

I got my two to abandon the presents and go to school/nursery by letting them take cake or sweets to share with friends at snack time, this is common practice at their school though.

DreamySleepyNightySnoozySnooze · 27/11/2012 21:20

He's feeding a bit better actually Shaky, although we haven't done anything yet! Typical! He still bites and pinches though, and my nipples really hurt in between feeds. We're seeing the Osteopath on Monday, so we'll see how we get on.

Ds1's having a really rough time with this illness. Whenever he's had to take time off playgroup before it's because he's vomited, but actually he is right as rain in himself, so we have a nice day playing at home. But this time he's so ill, he doesn't get out of bed till after 11am, then wants to go back to bed by 4/5pm. All he does in between is snuggle on my lap with a blanket and tell me every 10 minutes that he has a nasty cough, he's too hot, too cold, his eyes hurt, his nose hurts, his legs hurt etc. :( He's kept down a slice of toast today, and a few slices of cucumber, so that's a bit more than yesterday at least.

I got a lovely parcel from Bonkey today to cheer me up. :)

YankTeeDoodleDanTee · 27/11/2012 21:25

Oh no poor DS1, Dreamy. The flu is horrid. I hope he feels better soon.

Happy birthday for tomorrow Shakyboy!

Forgot to say, LittleTee and I at the GP today. No new advice about toilet training except to keep doing what we're doing. My cough is just a cough and I got no good drugs. Why does adult cough medicine all taste like licorice. Envy

SantaKissedBonkeyMollocks · 27/11/2012 21:30

Happy birthday for tomorrow Shakyboy! :)
We will be doing pressies after school on ds's bday! No way the monkey will get to school otherwise!

Dreamy :( I had flu in March. I have never been so ill in my life. I think if my flat was on fire I would have seriously thought twice about if I could really be arsed to get out of bed Wink . Must be bloody awful for little ones when they just don't understand! Keep his fluids up if you can! I got dehydrated which stopped me getting better. Dyrolyte (sp?) is good stuff, even just a little bit!
