Glad you have some time off sorted shaky look after yourself xxx

ZombTEE · 20/10/2012 15:16

Good Saturday afternoon all.

Not sure what I've been doing today exactly but the laundry is at least folded and just waiting for my husband to carry it up the stairs so I can put it away.

Also, toys seem to have been picked up. Shock

Maybe the house won't be a tip when my mom comes in 2 weeks!

bonkey how's the foot?

EmpressOfTheSevenScreams · 20/10/2012 15:25

Life is back to normal. DD's lost her 3rd doorkey and has confessed to spending most of her lunch money on sweets. DW and I are doing lots and lots of talking.

DD and I arrived at hairdresser at 12.30, she got washed about 12.45 and they started retwisting her locks about 2. I'm drinking coffee and MNing. Nice to have an excuse!

Hello!

Bonkey - are you taking paracetamol and ibruprofen? (alternating) you need the latter to help with any inflammation. Also alternate a hot and cold compress on your ankle, also to help with inflammation. Make sure your foot is raised higher than your hip too. Is it swollen? Can you weight-bear? If not and it's no better tomorrow, get down to A&E.

Empress when I was 14/15 (is that a similar age to your DD?) I am ashamed to say that my bus/lunch money was being spent on cigarettes Blush mum never knew, she had no reason to doubt me.

Glad to hear you are doing lots of talking, I really hope you and DW can work things out.

Tee hope over the sea and do some for me please - I have a load to go in the dryer, a load to go in the washer and a load to be folded. Oh and the ironing too.

In my defense, I have mowed the front lawn and weeded for the first time since August (it wasn't hideous but it was a lot scruffier than I would normally allow!) It half killed me.

My asthma is playing up, have had a cold and as per normal it has gone to my chest. I am being a wimp and not going to the Dr because I got told off for not taking proper care of my asthma last time I was there (I have it very mild but am prone to chest infections through winter). I had been very good with my preventative inhaler, taking it every day - but due to nausea I stopped for a couple of weeks and that was when the cold hit. I am taking it again now, but I worry that I will get bollocked for not using it for 2 weeks (I couldn't, it was at a point where swallowing was making me heave - let alone a gassy squirt of steroid!)

So, I have been online for about 2 hours now and I need to move. Possibly to make a coffee and then return to my seat and carry on MNing Grin

BrianCoxIsEatingBrains · 20/10/2012 15:43

*hop over the sea (or send hope, either will do)

ZombTEE · 20/10/2012 15:55

Well, don't worry about ironing, waste of time.

MummifiedBonkeyMollocks · 20/10/2012 18:14

Hello, foots ok - ish. Still hobbling but not really painful anymore. Have dosed up on ibuprofen so maybe thats helping! No idea what Iv'e done, no swelling, no bruise....weird!

Sofa. pizza, cheesy sat night tv and a pack of peas for me tonight!

Brian Hope you feel better too, and stick to fingers up to the docs if you need too Wink . And if you fold vair nicely when you get clothes out the dryer (while they are still warm) then there is no need to iron! Grin

Another one here who spent lunch money on fags Blush .

I managed to lose a Guinea pig again in the kitchen today, not the easiest thing trying to dig him out from behind the fridge it was easier to get him from behind the washing machine and that took a hour and three people . Hmm

ScreamyShriekyFrightyWoozyWooo · 20/10/2012 19:38

"Well, don't worry about ironing, waste of time."

^ This.

ScreamyShriekyFrightyWoozyWooo · 20/10/2012 19:50

Rest up Bonkey. Don't be chasing guinea pigs around like a crazy lady, that won't help your foot! We looked after a friend's chinese hamster once. It was tiny and managed to escape by squeezing between the bars of its cage. It lived in our piano for a few days before we could catch it. We had to keep the cage in the bath until our friend came back!

Hope you feel better soon Brian. Go to the doctors and lie if you have to!

Shaky, your boss sounds lovely. I hope doubling your dose helps, and having the 4 weeks off takes the pressure off.

Empress, are you home from the hairdressers yet? How many cups of coffee do you get through while your dd gets her hair done? Wink

showtunesgirl · 20/10/2012 20:07

Popping in to say hi. Very overtired, messed up napping 11 month old DD in bed. Hope she'll do what she did the last three nights which was 8-7.

Anyone got any good choc snacks about?

StateofConfusion · 20/10/2012 20:44

Evening all,

I'm back home now back to being Mum, I did enjoy my break but I do love my house, because its mine, and I did miss the dcs and dp

Was quite amusing, trying to leave my Mums tonight and her dopey dog deciding he lives with us now and making multiple attempts to slip out the door amongst us. He sat on the doorstop whinging as we loaded the dcs in. Went for a walk up the woods and took the dcs and my brother and sister to a small farm, dd has the class camera so I'm under pressure to be uber parent for the teachers to disect her photos monday.

I'm all out of peanut butter related chocolate, and so is sainsburys but dp is off to buy me chocolate of some kind --and super noodles because I NEED them--

showtunesgirl · 20/10/2012 20:58

Forget Super Noodles. If you can get a hold of Nissin Damae Ramen they are the dog's bollocks!

BrianCoxIsEatingBrains · 20/10/2012 20:59

State - our Co-op has Reese's peanut butter cup thingies.....have a mooch, they may be your new dealer go-to shop Wink

I would lie to my GP but my fear is he will think 'oo eck, X dose of inhaler isn't working so we best up it' when really it could be working, I just haven't taken it properly. I will go on Monday I think, I am getting breathless at the slightest exercise.

I have my first ante-natal appointment with my consultant on Tuesday, big questions to ask after my discovery this week thread here and the chance that I may be able to go for a natural birth, having lived my adult life thinking this wasn't possible! (only one response on thread but actually got a lot of help IRL so have talked it through and happier now)

So yeah.

MummifiedBonkeyMollocks · 20/10/2012 21:17

Brian's commission Grin

ScreamyShriekyFrightyWoozyWooo · 20/10/2012 21:31

State, I have just amended my online shop and ordered Reece's peanut butter cups because of you! I've never tried them before, so I think it's time I did. Grin

Brian, that's interesting! I hope they say you can go for it. And yes, I see what you mean about the inhaler. Best tell the truth, but ignore him if he tries to bollock you!

BrianCoxIsEatingBrains · 20/10/2012 21:33
Grin

fanks [burp]

Screamy I must be one of the few women in the world to be going against the non-pain (well initially) choice of a c-section and actually want to do the (lots of pain) natural labour thing Grin

StateofConfusion · 20/10/2012 21:51

screamy you also need reeces pieces and a nutrageous bar Grin

No co-ops anywhere near me brian

Dp got my dairy milk bubbly, it will do.

I get where your coming from brian for various reasons ds and dd were elcs' and I've never even had a contraction, dc3 is elcs, I could fight for vbac but the fear of unknown and having 2 scars already would mean I had to lie down and be monitored constantly so I've agreed with my consultants gentle urges to agree to elcs, but I really feel I'm missing out and not a proper mum.

ScreamyShriekyFrightyWoozyWooo · 20/10/2012 21:53

See, if you're inhaling chocolate, then your inhaler doesn't sound like it's working, and you really do need to talk to the GP...

BrianCoxIsEatingBrains · 20/10/2012 21:54

doh Blush

so that's where I've been going wrong!

Grin
ScreamyShriekyFrightyWoozyWooo · 20/10/2012 21:57

State, don't! I really shouldn't amend my shop again! And I shouldn't be eating so much chocolate either. I went for a run today. Shock First one since the day after I found out I was pregnant. Actually that reminds me, I do need to amend my shop once more. Blush

ZombTEE · 20/10/2012 22:00

State contractions do not make you a proper mum, having a baby does,

I've had a contraction and never will. I'm a proper mum.

ZombTEE · 20/10/2012 22:00

Oops, I've never had...
