I am scrubbing the entire flat. The landlord is coming round tomorrow. Eek!

StateofConfusion · 16/10/2012 21:42

I'm ok, still tired and hormonal but I'll get over it Grin now have two arms which feel like I've been punched but its all for the greater good etc blah blah. Still want to itch them like a mad women!

My milky way crispy roll was amazing!

Ooh show never fun, enjoy! Were so lucky with our LL he pops over every now and again to sort small bits and he came once and I said I've not washed up or hoovered and there's laundry on the stairs, he said, "good your human, we'll talk in the front garden if it worrys you" he's a lovely guy, desperate to keep us though!

MummifiedBonkeyMollocks · 16/10/2012 22:01

Luuuuurrrrve milky way crispy rolls!

Good luck show , at least you will have a nice clean and tidy house! Grin

State Your LL sounds lovely!

Shaky · 16/10/2012 22:05

Hiya, I've been working today!

I have my new glasses and no longer look a twat in my sunglasses! Grin

I am now very skint and seriously thinking of buying some emergency contact lenses. I have also paid for insurance for these specs, vision express are really expensive and my frames are child size (has small head). At least I can see now, hurray!

MummifiedBonkeyMollocks · 16/10/2012 22:07

I have child size glasses too. They are the only ones that don't fall off my head! Grin

StateofConfusion · 16/10/2012 22:13

Hurrah shaky my Mum used vision express last time she needed glasses she's sure they are better quality, she got bogof though so it made the higher price a bit easier to swallow, ofc she instantly lost her favourite pair Grin

I'd not seen milkyway crispy rolls for years, sure they didn't used to be 40p! But then I'm aghast that freddos are now 17p.

showtunesgirl · 16/10/2012 22:17

Our landlord is fine. It's just that there are some things that need doing to the flat. Kind of his fault that it's not been done though as I told him ages ago and he didn't follow it up.

However, he DOES know that we are good tennants as the flat before the last place we stayed in, he was the LL to that too and we were there for five and half years. When this place came up, he was eager to have us back again.

MummifiedBonkeyMollocks · 16/10/2012 22:17

No they were 26p!!!
Iceland do 6 for £1 90p if you get discount like I do .

showtunesgirl · 16/10/2012 22:19

However, good news is that my dinner is almost ready. Late one due to house cleanage. Butter chicken and Karhai broccoli. Dear Madhur Jaffrey, I love you and your Curry Easy book. Amen. Grin

StateofConfusion · 16/10/2012 22:29

bonkey I'm Envy of your discount 90p for that many is too good to be true --and has anyone tried the frozen greggs sausage rolls, they're actually quite good Blush--

Sounds fancy shaky we are stuck in a terrible rut with meals again, the dcs had hot lunches today so I just gave them sandwiches --and waited for them to go to sleep and have a naughty kebab--

MummifiedBonkeyMollocks · 16/10/2012 22:32

steak makes are rather tasty too Grin

Shaky · 16/10/2012 22:56

We are getting an iceland, it opens 7th nov, I am unashamedly excited, our only other options in our village are the coop (big but expensive) or the spar (small and expensive). Although we do have Asda, tesco etc about 5 miles away. Ds goes out to do shopping on a Saturday, armed with list (still gets it wrong). I'm seriously considering going back to doing online shopping but I always buy too much and underestimate how much room we have in the freezer. I end up throwing a lot of fresh stuff out cos I can't choose the dates on it and have already filled the freezer, so fresh stuff goes out of date quicker than we use it. I need to be more organised.

Shaky · 16/10/2012 22:59

State if he's had a hot lunch I wouldn't worry at all. It's no different from giving a packed lunch then a hot tea x

Shaky · 16/10/2012 23:02

I didn't have a steak bake in the car to celebrate my new found vision
I would never contemplate such a thing I would just do it

EmpressOfTheSevenScreams · 16/10/2012 23:35

Are there any pastries left?

DD was given an hour's detention tonight for not doing her ICT homework.

Under normal circs, completely reasonable consequence. As it was, though, she had a good excuse - she was on a week-long residential last week, missed the lesson and since it was a school thing, it honestly hadn't occurred to her (or us) Blush that she'd need to chase homework. Besides, she got back Friday evening and the work was due in today. Teacher didn't want to know and DD, who's grown up a lot lately, took the punishment quietly and saved the ranting for us later.

In the meantime I'm at home wondering WTF she is and why she's not answering her phone. Didn't find out the answer to either question until she was out. Some teachers ensure parents get texts about detentions. This bloke apparently doesn't.... Grrrr.

What's a milkyway crispy roll?

Morning

I was indeed watching GBBO and OMG so pleased about the winner!

And then I went to bed.

And slept, without waking...for eight entire hours! I feel so much better.

EmpressOfTheSevenScreams · 17/10/2012 08:28

Wow, Tee. That's absolutely brilliant.

StateofConfusion · 17/10/2012 08:56

Morning all, I am still in bed, I got up and washed, dressed and did dcs hair and lovely dp has taken them to school as I've barely slept two sore shoulders, one huge bump and now a twingey back.
I feel such a wimp the whooping cough jab I had is the one 3yos have! I vow ill dose mine up with calpol in future, its so tender! Poor little buggers!

That was my logic shaky I just feel bad doing it when its cold and wet etc but they do eat lots of salad on the side with sandwiches so its quite a hefty meal.

Icelands not to bad I don't get the grief it gets on here, its handy for lunch stuff, and good deals of crisps/biscuits treats for dc, ice lollies in the summer, yogurts/cheese etc. Some are good for fruit and veg, its hit and miss.

empress your poor dd, that teacher is completely unreasonable! As she was on a school trip I wouldn't have considered any homework she'd have missed, and we certainly didn't have to when we went away on residentials, and as for not letting you know where she was, is he a total moron!!! I don't blame her for having a rant, that is so unfair!

tee that's excellent, bet you feel fantastic today!
What are we going to do tuesday evenings now though??

ScreamyShriekyFrightyWoozyWooo · 17/10/2012 10:36

That's fantastic Tee!

Baby slept from 11pm til 4.30am last night. Shock But for some reason I feel really tired and rubbish today. Think my cold is still lingering. Also, I think my name change has had an effect on him - he's gone from being Baby Dreamy, to Baby Screamy! He's good at night, but on no account am I allowed to put him down during the day. He screams until he's sweaty. I didn't know babies could sweat! But how else am I supposed to have a wee? The only chance I get to eat or shower is after the school run when he's fallen asleep in the pram, and even then he waits until I've just sat down with my food, or just started washing my hair, then wakes up and starts yelling. It's just a phase. It's just a phase. It's just a phase.

Your poor dd Empress. It was very restrained of her not to contest it with the teacher. Very unfair on her, and really bad that the school didn't let you know where she was.

Thank god GBBO has finished. I have tupperware full of flapjack, brownies and biscuits in my kitchen because that programme has made me hungry. I need to stop baking and concentrate on finishing eating it all. Anyone want to come round and help me? I've been sending stuff to Mil and school but I still have far too much!

I went to Iceland once when I was a student. Got so much stuff for a tenner, I was very impressed. I haven't been since, to be honest the adverts put me off.

Hope your arms feel better soon State. It's kind of interesting to know that you had the same injection the children have, and how painful it actually is. I think children are pretty tough really, and deal with stuff like that better than adults.

Very jealous of your sparkling clean house Showtunes. I hate housework. Angry

So Shaky, how does the puddle look now you can see us all properly? Not a muddy puddle anymore!

StateofConfusion · 17/10/2012 11:11

screamy apparently its worse for adults as we have more muscle, I'm still having calpol ready for dd when she has the same jab next week! I do think they're tougher than most adults though, dd is forever knocking herself and usually blinks and runs off, whereas I am an epic whimp.

Dd was screamy baby, I tried a sling for a while but I made her worse when I had to put her down bouncy chair or swing where she could see me and I'd talk at her the whole time eventually helped, it is just a phase and this too shall pass!

showtunesgirl · 17/10/2012 11:40

It is NOT sparkling. Still so much to do. [weeping emoticon]

I have until 4pm apparently. But I have just got back from aerobics and put DD down for a nap so shower first and then on with it!

MummifiedBonkeyMollocks · 17/10/2012 13:05

I have caved and ordered Fifty shades of grey stock Blush Blush Shock !

In my defence it sells bloody amazingly so I am shamelessly jumping on the bandwagon! Grin

Empress thats shit! I would have thought exactly the same. And they should have let you know! What if something had happened?!! Arses!
