I shall be attempting this tomorrow for dinner. I am excited about trying something I've heard such good things about but am looking for any tips! Also interested to hear your experiences. :)

For kindle owners the first book is available for £1.74 the second is £3 something Smile

TitsalinaBumSquash · 29/05/2012 16:05

Oh the kindle versions already been mentioned Blush (teach me to read properly!)

Does anyone have the Indian and American version of these or are they just the same recipes as the original books?

BlackAffronted · 29/05/2012 16:22

Just the same, no new recipes in them.

*blogged, sorry!

NettoSuperstar · 30/05/2012 17:28

That's looks delicious. I've ordered the ingredients for it to come with my online delivery on Friday.
I've not done any cooking since Saturday as I've not been feeling well, but perking up a bit now.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 30/05/2012 18:10

I'm about to cook the doner, I'm really hoping it's amazing! Smile

BlackAffronted · 30/05/2012 18:18

I just made cashew chicken, its not from the book but tasted just like the one we get from our local takeaway! Yum.

NettoSuperstar · 31/05/2012 09:57

Book just arrived.
I think I'll try some of the American stuff first, since I've never been there.

NettoSuperstar · 31/05/2012 09:58

I got gram flour yesterday too, from Amazon for the pakoras from the first book.
I need to clean my deep fat fryer out first though or make DD do it

BlackAffronted · 31/05/2012 12:10

I got gram fluor in Tesco, a massive bag for about £2.50!

NettoSuperstar · 31/05/2012 12:19

I'm stuck with online atm, and I find Asda best here. They didn't have it, nor did they have preserved lemons for a tagine I want to make so Amazoned those too!

NettoSuperstar · 01/06/2012 00:16

Well, I tried the pakora recipe tonight, not chicken, I used mushrooms instead as I had loads to use up and wanted a veggie meal.
I'll be making them again!

I'm doing the calzone.
Have the tomato sauce simmering as I type.
I've made satay before, but not using the book.

JimmyMacWhenAreYouComingBack · 09/06/2012 19:21

So have I, but this one was easier (and just as tasty) so will probably use thsi recipe from now on.

JimmyMacWhenAreYouComingBack · 09/06/2012 19:21

Looking forward to seeing how your calzone works, thats still on my list to try.

SecretNutellaFix · 09/06/2012 20:00

we're having sweet and sour chicken balls, spare ribs and EFR

NettoSuperstar · 09/06/2012 20:20

My satay was a HFW/Rick Stein mash up.
I'm very fussy about satay, given I've travelled in Malaysia and Indonesia!
I will try it though I'm determined to start using the Takeaway Secret books.
I was going to do king rib, but we had pork mince last night, and I like to vary our food a bit.

JimmyMacWhenAreYouComingBack · 10/06/2012 08:06

SecretNutella, I love the sweet & sour chicken from this book! Did you enjoy it?

SecretNutellaFix · 10/06/2012 09:21

It was amazing.

Menroca16 · 10/06/2012 18:16

I made the boneless buffalo chicken strips and blue cheese dip from the second book last night, and served them with some corn fritters, sweet and sour cucumber and salad.
All recipes were brilliant.
