Which 5 meals do you cook most often?

Please indulge me. Been sick with hyperemesis for the last 5 months, so the thought of food was pushed to the very back of my mind. I'm now ready to look at cookbooks again. It's bliss! In fact, I'm a little obsessed at the moment with all the things I want to eat...

So what are the 5 meals you make the most often?

And also, how many different meals are there roughly in your repertoire that you rotate for dinner?

  1. Bolognaise sauce made into lasagne/ spag bol/ chilli con carne
  1. Pork steaks/ chicken cut into strips and pan-fried with spring onions, garlic and cream - with mushrooms and brandy a la stroganoff/ snips of sundried tomato and fresh basil. With rice/ tagliatelle and salad
  1. Home-made curries - indian/ thai - beef/prawn/chicken/lamb. With rice.
  1. Quiche - whatever's hanging around and needs using up but often spinach, bacon and emmenthal. With salad.
  1. Stuffed jacket potatoes with spring onions, smoked haddock, spinach and cheese. With salad.

I'm not very good at serving cooked vegetables - I always just serve a salad. To try to compensate for this I make veggie soups for Saturday lunch eg carrot and lentil and on the odd occasional that we have pudding (twice a week?) it's fresh berries or baked peaches/ apricots/ plums or a home-made compote with greek yoghurt (apart from days when it's Phish Food! Smile)

chilli, spag bog, chicken curry, beef casserole (all batch cooked monthly) oven chips and something on Weds - Zumba class!

We eat with DD (11months) on a week night. Weekends - early bird meal out for 3 one night and 'posh' grown up tea the other (paella, tapas, seafood tray bake, steak!)
