No this "aussie pie" is a layer of mash, layer of hard boiled eggs and so on, finish with layer of mash and then pour over cheese sauces and bake in oven. Sounds quite tasty to me.

moondog · 07/11/2005 13:04

Am still heaving over the thought of the baked bean lasagne.

OMG

Enid · 07/11/2005 13:06

Baked Bean Lasagne for those who missed it earlier:

pepsi - it's one that Rickman told me about back in August when things first got very tight here it is

"Fry an onion, add tin baked beans, tin tomatoes, herbs, mushrooms. Layer up in a dish with lasagne. Top with pot of cottage cheese mixed with a bit of natural yoghurt or mayonnaise and sprinkle some grated cheese on the top. Cook until pasta is soft.

I've added other bits and pieces that I might have laying around just to use things up - peppers, sausages etc, whatever you fancy."

mazzystar · 07/11/2005 13:25

Enid · 07/11/2005 13:47

dd1 would like that

munz · 07/11/2005 13:51

iota - do u do home made chilli? - how do u make it? wouldn't mind that if it's not too spicy.

iota · 07/11/2005 13:58

munz - -you're really testing my typing now

brown mince, brown onion, add clove of garlic (crushed), chopped green or red pepper, mushrooms, tin of kidney beans, tomato puree, big wodge of ketchup, chilli sauce, chilli powder and/or fresh chillies, paprika, maybe a little cumin

add can of tomatoes, chopped mushrooms and some fresh chopped coriander, possibly some pickled jalapenos.

Simmer for at least an hour -- test seasoning and add more puree, chilli sauce and a pinch of sugar to get correct level of richness and taste

sprinkle on some fresh coriander before serving with rice or bake dpotatoes. Maybe a dollop of sour cream

eat and eat and eat - -I looooove chilli
