Just wrote an excellent flounce and it disappeared!

Anyway, the gist was that I'm off. Mumsnet is no longer the lovely caring place it was, I can't believe the shit I am reading wrt the Syrian refugee crisis and I'm out.

I shall miss many many posters, thank you for the laughs, the tears, the support and putting up with me, it's been a blast and I am a better person for knowing you all.

I'm on one of the fb groups, so hope to see some of you around

Don't you dare go, your threads have brightened up many a dull day. Ignore or hide the crap, there are still many lovely people here evidenced by those actually doing something to help.

It is grim. I have a relevant background and I've looked those children in the eyes. I'm not engaging at all now because I can't bear the switch around or the insensitivity. I despair sometimes at posts but leaving doesn't stop the tide.

I mostly lurk on MN these days but just wanted to say I have always enjoyed reading your threads and they make me smile, you seem lovely. Take care and all the best.

Thanks for all the lovely words, I haven't gone just yet, I'm busy trying to make the Daily Mail bridgade see they are talking bollocks. It's like the twighlight zone on the boards at the moment - where has all the compassion gone? We used to be notoriously left wing, and now it is all full of kippers and arseholes.

Its weird isn't it. When I first joined a few years back you would get the odd dickheads but now it feels like they are everywhere.

They're not though are they emotionsecho. Look how many arseholes on that AIBU thread right now. A few years ago the whole of mumsnet would have ripped them a new one, but the tide seems to have turned, and now anyone showing a bit of sense compassion, and empathy is turned on.

The muslims are coming apparently, to mutilate our daughters, supress us, force us to live under Sharia law and perform some sort of unspecified witchcraft I particularly like the sound of that bit, I bloody loved 'Charmed' I wonder if they can teach me to freeze people like Piper honestly, I despair. I don't know about infiltration, but there seems to be a lot of threads trying to attract MRA's, trying to offend certain posters and looking for a fight rather than a discussion.

I find that using customise to hide certain topics such as politics (which seems to be patrolled by the socialist workers party, conservative central office and Jeremy C's pr firm scrapping it out) and AIBU which is populated by the unhinged, unkind keyboard warriors that give the D Mail green inkers a bad name, really helps my blood pressure.

I know there are a lot of arseholes on that thread but there are more against them. The post about witchcraft was a corker but just shows that people like that are so embroiled within their own idiocy it's best to leave them to drown in it.

I don't know where they are coming from but they'll have gone back under their rock soon enough when they have nothing to froth about and lack the wit, intelligence and humour to join in on the more usual threads on MN.

I'm lost - the overwhelming amount of posts I've seen have been in support of the refugees.

I live in the UKIP constiuency, which I am horribly embarrassed by (I didn't vote for them!)

Several people told me to move to an area with less right wing views.

My answer to that is that we need more people like me to move here to change things, not less

The same applies here on MN. If people who will challenge those views all jump ship then there is no chance of changing anything.
