Which is your favourite?

It's Carry on Loving for me 😆

OP posts:
ErlingHaalandsManBun · 22/05/2026 20:16

No-one has said Carry on Up the Jungle

'Oompah, oompah, stick it up your jumper'

or

Carry on Girls.

Dinggirl · 22/05/2026 20:26

Carry on screaming, and carry on camping for me! Especially Harriet Potter and that laugh of hers 🤣 oh and carry on doctor/matron ( can't remember which one) with Dr Kilmore 😄 brilliant name for a doctor!

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 22/05/2026 20:28

Carry On Screaming! So silly and the monsters are surprisingly creepy.

HelenaWilson · 23/05/2026 05:30

Dr Kilmore 😄 brilliant name for a doctor!

Would have been when Dr Kildare (Richard Chamberlain) was popular.

Nourishinghandcream · 23/05/2026 06:55

The early (B&W) ones are definitely the best although I have a soft spot for some of the later ones (Camping, Convenience, Abroad etc).
Cruising is especially good, was it the first colour one?🤔
Funny how some stalwarts of the entertainment industry were in them. Joan Hickson (Miss Marple) was in a surprising number and June Whitfield pops up occasionally. Frankie Howard was a great success but Phil Silvers a waste of the huge fee he was paid.

We have the whole collection on DVD and went through them a few months ago. A couple I never liked even when I was young (and they haven't improved with age) but if you accept them for being of their time they are very amusing.

Yes this one scared me as a child

yellowhatonacapybara · 23/05/2026 07:00

Don’t Lose Your Head is my favourite.

I’m Camembert! I’m the big cheese!

PersephoneParlormaid · 23/05/2026 07:03

I can’t choose! There’s no newly produced films that make me laugh anywhere near like a Carry On film.

HellsBells13 · 23/05/2026 07:03

I love the films. My favourites are Convenience, Abroad, Henry and Camping .

DeposedPresident · 23/05/2026 07:04

Carry on Camping.

SorrelForbes · 23/05/2026 07:07

Khyber. The lovely Roy Castle.

elQuintoConyo · 23/05/2026 07:14

All of them! But especially Up the Khyber.

Has anyone seen San Ferry Ann? A silent film where they all pop across the channel and mingle with the French. A lot of the usual Carry On characters plus Wilfred Bramble (old man Step toe). Pure class, so British.

SmugglersHaunt · 23/05/2026 07:43

Carry on at Your Convenience - I love that one, especially when they go on their works outing. Also Carry on Girls with Bernard Bresslaw doing his thing.
Weirdly, they never seem to show Carry on Cowboy

Shodan · 23/05/2026 07:51

I watched Carry On Camping and Carry On Abroad last week! They're my two favourites.

HelpMeGetThrough · 23/05/2026 08:04

Carry On Doctor with Dr Kilmore and Carry On Again Doctor with Dr Nookey.

Jim Dale was a genius in them.

The “professionally offended” would have a fit watching these.

ETA: Sid James was Gladstone Screwer in Carry On Again Doctor 🤣

devildeepbluesea · 23/05/2026 08:06

I think I’ve found my tribe!

Couldn’t possibly choose a favourite, they all get regular showings in my house, but Matron is my “comfort film” for some reason. Might stick one on now actually…

Imdunfer · 23/05/2026 08:23

Oh you can't beat the bra scene in Carry on Camping!

I've got to go and hunt that one down now!

moggerhanger · 23/05/2026 08:31

Khyber is my favourite, but I also love Sergeant. William Hartnell's character has a lot of poignancy to it.

I'm also fond of Follow That Camel. DH and I have a family joke, announcing a visit to the smallest room by yelling "Mustafa Leek!"

Ours is "infamy, infamy, they've all got it in for me!"

carry on at your convenience was brilliant but carry on camping is a very worthy second place.
I was watching carry on nurse the other day with the man with the best laugh Sid James
what was the one with a beauty contest in a hotel have not seen that one for years
