Daniel Radcliffe as Bond is too weird. Does he go to the gym or have athletic skills that we don’t know about ? I’ve only seen him on screen in a car in Harry Potter so stunt driving in a fancy car is going to be laughable. Has he ever been in a movie where he’s had good on screen chemistry with a woman ? That’s another Bond requirement that I don’t think he meets because he’s not a good actor.

Ddakji · 27/04/2025 17:25

Richard Armitage as Bond. He’s too old to start it now.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 27/04/2025 17:26

I really like James Norton but, he's far to untidy to play James Bond. JB is dapper and suave. JN in looks reminds me of a lovable golden retriever.

BruisedNeckMeat · 27/04/2025 17:28

Henry Cavill is the only option for Bond.

Snorlaxo · 27/04/2025 17:29

I‘m wondering if OP will be back to say she meant a different actor rather than Daniel Radcliffe.

Yes he’d be good - he can handle the stunts, would look great in a tux etc I wonder if he’d be out of budget though.

The worry is that Amazon have bought the Bond rights so could they go woke and hire someone who isn’t white?

Hugh Grant as Gilderoy Lockhart

He was actually originally cast but had to drop out. He’d have been perfect.

saveforthat · 27/04/2025 17:36

When I read the Thursday Murder Club, I always imagined the police woman to look like Natalie Drew (who plays the police woman in the Marlow Murders). Sadly she has not been cast in the role.

peanutbuttertoasty · 27/04/2025 17:45

I always thought Sandra bullock would have been a good Lara Croft

Daniel Radcliffe… woman repellent!! 😅 Good one OP!

Cerialkiller · 27/04/2025 17:46

Cillian Murphy for Bond, I was never convinced by Daniel Craige. As good of an actor as he is, Bond needs a fantastic head of dark hair (preferably with a forelock) imo. Pierce Bronson is my bond, looked the part but also convincing as a spy, doesn't look like a bodybuilder. Reggie jean page, might do now he's aged a bit too.

Richard Ayoade as doctor who. Possibly too on the nose of anything. He could have played against type though.

letsnotIRL · 27/04/2025 17:54

Using the voice actors from Tangled for the live action remake. They were made for the role.

He’s too ‘obvious’ though I think. Maybe Robert Pattinson?!

Hmm maybe she meant Ben Radcliffe…

insomniaclife · 27/04/2025 18:43

Well I want to see Tom Hardy —in anything— as Jack Aubrey in the next 11 films if master and commander.

Either that or she’s laying low realising she’s the only Daniel Radcliffe fan that exists 😂

I think he scrubs up very well.
(Swoon 😍😍😍).

Doesn’t want to be outed as his mum!

Great question but I don't think anyone else would consider Daniel Radcliffe as James Bond!

He still looks 12, he's awkward rather than suave and smooth and hasn't been in any action or hard man films.

Just no!

For me, Lilly Collins as Audrey Hepburn.

sissygirl23 · 27/04/2025 19:48

Clive Owen would have been a good Bond.

Firefly100 · 27/04/2025 20:03

Bob Hoskins as the chimney sweep in Mary Poppins - Dick van Dyke worst casting ever

Dellomana · 27/04/2025 20:03

Oh I would have loved Richard Ayowade as Dr Who! He's too famous for it now though isn't he? Now it's gone all strange and nobody really watches it anymore, I mean.

Imagine a young Daniel Day Lewis as James Bond. It would never happen, lol, but what a thought. But no, I think it should be Henry Golding, surely.

I would have liked Rufus Sewell as Sam Vimes, for some reason, something wiry and sinewy about him. He's too old now though. I'd go for Matthew Rhys instead these days.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 27/04/2025 20:04

Evan Peters as Alex in A Clockwork Orange.

Pemba · 27/04/2025 20:28

I hope you don't mean that's your worry too, do you @Snorlaxo?

A Bond with a different ethnicity could work really well and be refreshing. Idris Elba was mentioned for ages, probably he's too old now though. Or Rene Jean Page. I think Adrian Lester would have been good back in the day.

Or maybe Henry Golding.
