That ’Diana’ film with Naomi Watts. ☺️ I went because it was a work thing and it was the London premiere - normally I would have walked out, but sadly couldn’t really say to clients “your film is shit, I’m off”. I turn these things down now I’m older and wiser!

@NoWordForFluffy well yes.... and James Spader does tend to be in odd stuff, especially when he was younger.
But I admit I liked the original J G Ballard book, surreal and really captured the menacing otherness of huge complicated road junctions where it's impossible to imagine yourself outside the safe cocoon of a car.

How did the film compare to the book?

Another utterly awful film is Mulholland Drive. Thankfully I didn't go to the cinema to see it!

Onegin

My best friend and I went in out of desperation to get put the rain; we were still under 16; still no idea what it was about; remember us looking at each other and thinking "wtf??"

Things to do in Denver when you're dead. Only time I walked out of a cinema before the end of the film. DH didn't agree with me but followed any way.

Alvin and the Chipmunks 2nd worst but had to stay for the kids.

Applestrudelist · 12/04/2024 23:34

The Royal Tenenbaums… Sis and I walked about after 30 mins… only time I’ve ever not stayed for a film.

sparklychair · 12/04/2024 23:35

From Dusk til Dawn
What a stupid film! Did Tarentino simply change his mind halfway through, or did someone muddle up two scripts and nobody noticed?

dinosaurghostcat · 12/04/2024 23:35

Australia
I actually fell asleep!

CutPiece · 12/04/2024 23:36

Titanic. I was dying to go to the loo for about the last hour, only I saw it in a jam-packed old cinema with no aisles, and was sitting right in the middle with about 20 rapt, hysterically weeping people on either side of me, and they would probably have rioted if I interrupted their view of old Leonardo Potato-Face going down with the ship. Never did anything sink so slowly…

Les miserables. What a bag of shite

Haha yep

CoffeeBeansGalore · 12/04/2024 23:38

Police Academy 5 (missed the showing for the film we actually wanted to see).
Dh fell asleep & started snoring. People around us laughed at this which woke him up & thought he'd missed a funny bit.
We left.

The Ninth Gate with Johnny Depp

AliceMcK · 12/04/2024 23:39

He-man closely followed by Johnny Depps Willy Wonka movie.

yarnwitch · 12/04/2024 23:40

Rollerball about 20 years ago. It was dire, loads of people walked out.
I really didn't enjoy Love Actually either, didn't get the hype.

SlurpSlooChortle · 12/04/2024 23:41

'As Good As It Gets.'
Our school took us as teens to the cinema while we were on a rainy residential trip and I've never been so bored.

JadeSeahorse · 12/04/2024 23:43

What dreams may come.

Much as I adored Robin Williams - and still do - this film was crap.

titchy · 12/04/2024 23:44

Last tango in Paris, and Prometheus.

😍 Les Mis!

The Grand Budapest Hotel. What a load of baloney. Think I saw the first 10-15 mins and fell asleep from sheer boredom. From the amount of people yawning and stretching at the credits. It looked like half the cinema fell asleep too.

Another great film!!!

Scott Pilgrim versus the world

gloriawasright · 12/04/2024 23:48

Tinker tailor soldier spy - middle aged men in grey suits whispering. Almost cried with boredom

The Royal Tenanbaums “aren’t we quirky and cute”. No. Actually bonded Dh and I it was an early date and heartened he also thought it was shit

Moonlight. Sorry just didn’t get it.

That's one of my favourite films.
Boat drinks 😉

SkiingIsHeaven · 12/04/2024 23:54

Phantasm 2. I hadn't even seen the first one and it was awful. What a crap date too. All in all a total waste of a night out b

Dreamweaving · 12/04/2024 23:55

Crikey there’s a lot of films I like here , Scott pilgrim & dusk til dawn 😂 only film I’ve walked out of was the nice guys with Russell Crowe, having not read any reviews and I went to watch with a friend who worked in child protection and story was basically about exploitation, yep not funny at all, left pretty quickly
