Moonlight

Gladiator. Not my thing at all.

The Fisher King. Robin Williams couldn't save it

One of my favourite films 😆

Sleepers. Grim with physical and sexual abuse - upsetting endurance test. It was marketed as a true story (which was a lie).

Watched as a video: Phone Booth.

The second Matrix film. Loved the first, so disappointing.

TM1979 · 13/04/2024 09:35

Magnolia. It’s the only film I’ve ever walked out of. Utter rubbish.

TangoTarantella · 13/04/2024 09:36

Daredevil
Fantastic Beasts and where to find them
Madagascar 3 (shame as I love 1 & 2)

Walked out of cinema for all three of these.

The Happening

Mumaway · 13/04/2024 09:38

My big fat greek wedding 3, or maybe Downton abbey movie. Both just sooooooo cheesy

Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein - the only film I’ve ever walked out of early.

The English Patient. Mind you I was clearly coming down with something and felt like shit.

Oh god yeah, these two were particularly shit.

Evita.
I'm not saying it's a bad film, I know I'm in the minority, it just wasn't for me.
It's the first film I'd seen that was all singing and no talking and it really got on my nerves.

Barbie.

I loved that film! I saw it twice.

Chemenger · 13/04/2024 09:47

Walked out of Apocalypse Now as a teenager, just hated it.

Life of Pi - I spent the entire film wanting the tiger to just eat the boy and make it end (I am aware it was all an allegory, that did not make it less boring).

Babylon - it is just an astonishingly bad film that wasted the talents of its cats.

Finally, Alvin and the Chipmunks 2, which for some reason I had to see twice in the cinema, possibly because one of the DC decided they loved it so much they went back with friends for their birthday.

Should be cast, obviously!

Watchmen. Wish I'd left and done something more productive with my time like watched paint dry.

Timeforsinging81 · 13/04/2024 09:51

Holes. Anyone else seen this? It has a young Keira knightley in a lead role. I left the cinema feeling very nauseous but can't exactly remember why. It was a 15 but think it was reclassified as an 18 rated on dvd release.

Wehavealaughdontwe · 13/04/2024 09:54

The Northman

middleof58 · 13/04/2024 09:55

Pret a porter. I think we walked out!

In terms of good movies that were very hard to watch, the Green Mile and in particular, the execution scene, was one of those movies were you could feel the tension in the cinema. Absolutely horrendous (to me, anyway!) but at the same time, something I felt it was good to see. Although they don't execute people like that in the US any more, it still helped me to firm up my beliefs on this topic.

Cats, Dune and the new Wonka film

Persipan · 13/04/2024 09:57

Sex and the City 2

In my defence, I only went to be sociable as it was a work outing, so I didn't exactly expect it to be good. It was so much worse than I anticipated, though!

shellyleppard · 13/04/2024 09:57

Howard the duck

Devongoddess · 13/04/2024 10:00

Not the worst but I did fall asleep and miss a chunk of Dune 2 recently!

Wishimaywishimight · 13/04/2024 10:00

Spencer. Only time I can remember coming really close to walking out.

Auntieobem · 13/04/2024 10:00

Aquaman

PinotPony · 13/04/2024 10:03

Mother!

Such gratuitous violence and the story made no sense whatsoever. I thought I was having a stroke.
