Lost in space.

Big budget, big names. Utter, utter shite acting, scripting, storyline.

Just awful.

Les miserables. What a bag of shite

Yep. We left part way through.

shearwater2 · 14/04/2024 07:16

Seven. It was just horrible and made me depressed - not something I wanted to be at 20/21, absolutely loving life. Utterly revolting film.

I tend to spoiler myself before risking seeing anything at the cinema probably for that reason.

shearwater2 · 14/04/2024 07:19

Les Mis film was dire I agree. I'd been to the stage musical and loved it, plus had listened to the music loads in my teens and 20s. The film completely ruined it and somewhat marred the happy memories of enjoying the stage production.

I don't think I could speak to someone any more who doesn't like Sliding Doors. Yes, it's pretty dated now but god, the nostalgia for the late 1990s.

Meadowfinch · 14/04/2024 07:27

Agree with @SomeonTookMyAnonymousUserName , Eyes wide shut.

The only film I've seen, that was such rubbish, I got up and left. 20 minutes of terrible acting and visual cliches was enough for me.

Babylon. I wanted the three hours of my life back!

Oh god, yes, I didn't even make it to the end. Awful.

Oh that's my favourite movie!

Well it takes all sorts! 😆

It bored me to death I'm afraid... In fact there was that one and another with Robin Williams that came around the same time where he was in heaven which was all mushy but also depressing and dull. If I could remember the title, that might have actually been worse 😉

paranoidnamechanger · 14/04/2024 17:27

The second Shazam film, last year. I work in care and the person I care for wanted to see it, so I didn't pay and this wouldn't have been my choice. It was a boring mess and I can only think Helen Mirren did it to pay off a mortgage.

Babylon is a close second. Amazing that turkey came from the director of Whiplash and La La Land, and what a super cast!

Mothership4two · 15/04/2024 07:30

We went to see Ishtar - I remember Dustin Hoffman and Warren Beatty were in it and there was a desert and it was excrutiatingly awful, but other than that I can't remember a single thing about it (which is probably a good thing), no plot or other characters, no nothing.

C1N1C · 15/04/2024 07:47

I was dragged to several Wes Anderson movies. The first one was just a date, the second one I didn't realise it was the same director.

Never again.

We were teenagers and went to the movies for fun and it wasn’t I suppose..?!… I’ve recently started re-watching some old films and it’s so different with adult eyes- must do that with this one!

Yes, do re-watch it @mynamechangemyrules. It's not an easy film to watch but it's so powerful and so moving.

Holes. Anyone else seen this? It has a young Keira knightley in a lead role. I left the cinema feeling very nauseous but can't exactly remember why. It was a 15 but think it was reclassified as an 18 rated on dvd release.

Yes! The Hole. It was one of the first unreliable narrator films I saw. A couple met really grim ends. I think the KK character was bulimic.

DogsAreBetterThanHusbands · 22/04/2024 14:42

Super Mario Bros movie. So rubbish!!

35andThriving · 26/04/2024 15:21

Also, Mr and Mrs Smith

I saw loads of films in my early twenties, that I didn't really want to see and weren't my cup of tea, just because a group of us were going to the cinema together.

YaMuvva · 12/05/2024 03:30

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

we left and went to the pub.

She was also 15 during filming and has a topless scene. I find that deeply worrying

Charlize43 · 15/05/2024 22:43

Australia starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. It was awful with really bad acting.

Some time later a friend dragged me to see Queen of the Desert because she'd seen a very interesting documentary on Gertrude Bell, narrated by Tilda Swinton. The movie starred Nicole Kidman, and I didn't realise how awful her acting is (breathy whispering of dialogue and a complete lack of facial expression). Again, it was excruciatingly bad.

I think I've learnt my lesson now and won't watch anything she's in. Anyone else feel the same way about her?

RogueFemale · 15/05/2024 22:44

Titanic. Left at the interval.
