It's on Amazon Prime. I've waited years to rewatch. Dd came back from uni and we watched it together. She loved it. I loved it.

There's lots wrong with it but somehow it doesn't matter.

She guessed that it was Andrew McCarthy that I fancied.

Anyone else reliving their youth?

James Spader was also in white palace a great film with Susan sarrendon as his older girlfriend.

I’ve never known anyone else who’s seen White Palace! It’s a gem of a film and easily streamable in Prime and the like.

I have!

DD has recently discovered Pretty in Pink and Mannequin #teamMcCarthy

I also rewatched Class recently which hasn’t aged well!

I'm watching it now, the smoking ! 😱

I love this film, despite it aging horribly.

Rob Lowe deliberately sweats at people during his saxophone solo (there’s not nearly enough saxophone solos in modern pop music)

Demi Moore tries to self harm by…err…leaving the window open and not having any furniture

I watched this again a couple of weeks ago - I still love it! It really captures that feeling of peaking in high school/university, when you are just about old enough to enjoy the benefits of being an adult and have none of the responsibilities. When you believe that everything is possible and you are surrounded by friends and good times. Then you are confronted with the reality of 'proper' adulthood, career building and kids and bills and how some people just can't cope with it.

And yy to realising how lovely Mare Winningham is, in her very understated way. As a kid I wanted to be Demi Moore, with her more obvious glamour but now I'd pick the MW character's life.

Andrew McCarthy 💜😊 He really aged like a fine wine !

One of my all time favourite films although I haven't seen it for years now. I originally video taped it off the TV and then watched the video so many times as a teen it went all wibbly wobbly.

Andrew McCarthy was just gorgeous. I also remember I loved the name "Felicia" (Rob Lowe's character's wife (?) that threw him out) and planned to use it for one of my future children! Happy to report I have 4 DDs and none is named Felicia 😂

I really want to see About Last Night but it's only for rent. Might see if it's on YouTube.

And don't forget the billowing blue gauzy curtains!!

She was going to freeze to death apparently!!
