That really. What an amazing, surprising and beautifully made film. Excellent acting, great music and a real twist at the end. 🙂

Yes I really enjoyed it too. I think I need to watch it again.

Justhereforaibu1 · 27/01/2024 19:20

I thought it was brilliant too!

whatsoccuringnow · 27/01/2024 19:28

Agree!! Still thinking about it

Queijo · 27/01/2024 19:31

I loved it, only film I’ve watched more than once in a long time.

AceOfCups · 27/01/2024 19:33

I thought it was good up until the last bit (everything after the party basically) which really let it down. Just so silly.

BringItOnxxx · 27/01/2024 19:35

Loved it. Saw Poor Things recently as well and it was also brilliant.

Dazedandcovidconfused · 27/01/2024 19:38

Brilliant except for all the explanation at the end, felt a bit too murder she wrote

BigFatCat2024 · 27/01/2024 20:47

I turned it off after about half an hour. Found it utterly tedious

myphoneisbroken · 27/01/2024 20:50

Ha ha about the ending being Murder She Wrote, @Dazedandcovidconfused - spot on! it really wasn't necessary. I did love it otherwise though.

ErrolTheDragon · 27/01/2024 20:53

We started watching it but it didn't capture our interest- I guess we didn't stick either it long enough?

Fredblog · 27/01/2024 21:04

Slightly obsessed with Barry now too

Hardlyworking · 27/01/2024 21:05

I hoped the butler would suddenly appear during the naked dancing and stab him in the heart. That would have been a truly satisfying ending.

Blankscreen · 27/01/2024 21:08

I really enjoyed it, just not the but when he killed the mum, as it was too ridiculous that he didn't get caught for that.

But otherwise I though it was great.

joelmillersbackpack · 27/01/2024 21:09

I LOVED it, I wasn’t expecting to but I thought it was visually just stunning. I loved for foreshadowing and the mythology hints throughout. I’m itching to watch it again.

AnotherCountryMummy · 27/01/2024 21:11

I've just finished it and it really shook me up. Not sure why, I normally enjoy something a bit twisted or psychological. But this left me really upset 😟

Beautifully shot though.

How could you say it was a twist??? I saw it coming from almost the beginning. Creepy, creepy, creepy character. Ewwww

Sunshineofyourlove · 27/01/2024 21:32

It didn't do it for me, I swtched it off.

Floatinginatincan · 27/01/2024 21:35

It wasn't my cup of tea. I thought it was a silly & try hard. The kind of film that the cool kids describe as beautiful & amazing and everyone just agrees because they don't want to look uncultured and admit it was a bit shit.

Mummytotwonow · 27/01/2024 21:41

I thought it was brilliant too!!

I feel the same way. In my opinion, a film trying to be artsy and out there but I don't think it hit the mark at all.. completely forgettable for most had it not been for a few "shock and awe" sexual scenes that have kept the conversation circulating on places like Twitter.

Bigpaintinglittlepainting · 27/01/2024 21:45

I really enjoyed it too ! I read Engleby in the summer and I thought it was so similar, I loved that too !

So you didn't like it and denigrate those who do as unthinking sheeples.

Breakingpoint1961 · 28/01/2024 04:03

I didn't like it, acting was superb but I couldn't see what the hype was all about🤷🏻‍♀️

LittleTeawithmilk1 · 28/01/2024 04:34

I enjoyed it. Not a great movie but certainly not a waste of time. Took me days to get the song ‘murder on the dance floor’ out of my head afterwards though.

I think more could have been done in regards to the butlers role though.

I’m not from the UK and really hadn’t been aware of Barrie Keegan’s acting, but I think he played the main character very well. A really excellent cast actually, and the house itself was gorgeous.

newusernamejacket · 28/01/2024 05:26

Hated the bloody sex scene with the sister, it was too much for me. But as no one else has mentioned it maybe I'm just too much of a prude, it really bothered me 😂
Other than ok, it was good, not great, but good.
