I’m a big fan of the original however I was really disappointed in this. All of the actors are fab in it but I think it lacked all of the charm of the original film ( also on Netflix). It’s a shame as I was looking forward to it and was just disappointed.

Oh no. That’s a shame.
I loved knives out & saw this advertised yesterday, I was looking forward to watching it (have to wait for DH).

MIMemmy · 24/12/2022 13:45

I thought it was great fun!

dnaconundrum · 24/12/2022 13:55

I thought it was better than the first!! Loved it

Dedontdodatderdode · 24/12/2022 16:50

Okay, I couldn’t resist. I just watched it. DH will have to watch it by himself.
It was really enjoyable, even if it was slightly obvious.

Hoppinggreen · 24/12/2022 16:53

I loved it, probably more than the first one.
Daniel Craig’s accent is pretty annoying though

BillStickersIsInnocent · 24/12/2022 21:01

I thought it was fabulously daft, loved it! Clever plotting too. Agree not quite as good as first one, but still really really enjoyable.

rookiemere · 25/12/2022 08:29

The first hour was very tedious, but I enjoyed the rest of it. Not half as good as the first one, but still a nice Christmas watch.

Timeforachangeisitnot · 25/12/2022 08:31

i just loved the idea of Daniel Craig and Hugh Grant in a cosy domestic setting😂

TheUndoing · 25/12/2022 08:32

Yes I enjoyed it a lot less than the original. It lacked all of the Agatha Christie charm and just seemed a bit frantic and odd.

I genuinely can’t tell if he’s doing a ridiculous voice on purpose for comic effect.

After hearing his accent in Munich, I can’t be sure.

Loved both movies though!

My dds haven't seen Knives Out but we want to watch Glass Onion together. Does it matter or are there too many references to the first one?

Not really, but they are both on Netflix so why not watch Knives Out first?

StrawberryPot · 25/12/2022 08:39

You don't need to have seen the first one at all.

I thought it was okay, but not a patch on the first one.

TugboatAnnie · 25/12/2022 08:40

Good idea @rookiemere!

WingBingo · 25/12/2022 08:41

Daniel Craig is wonderfully miss cast. So wrong he’s right IYSWIM?

Stopsnowing · 25/12/2022 09:07

Loved it. The Radio Times has an interesting interview with the maker.

Queenmargery · 25/12/2022 09:10

We watched it last night. Enjoyable nonsense. The teenagers liked it more than the first one.

Evasmissingletter · 25/12/2022 09:12

We enjoyed both films. Loved the fashion in Glass Onion

user1471505356 · 25/12/2022 09:21

Endured about 30 minutes then gave up. Tedious.

MissHavershamReturns · 25/12/2022 13:07

Loved it! Think it’s much better than the first film

Lentilweaver · 25/12/2022 22:48

Though it tried too hard. Full of plot holes. Loved Janelle Monae though.

peoplearepeople · 25/12/2022 22:49

About an hour into this at the moment and just so disappointed. It really lacks the class and charm the first one had. Seems like a waste of a great cast. 🙁

WimpoleHat · 25/12/2022 22:51

I preferred the first one, I must admit - but really quite enjoyed Glass Onion. I’d definitely say to give it a go.

thewinterwitch · 25/12/2022 22:54

I much preferred it to the first one. That may have been because I found his accent so ludicrous and unnecessary in the first one it was distracting, but I also found the first one boring, whereas this one had so much lovely glass to look at, and really took off partway through. I was sorry when it was over.

pizzazze · 25/12/2022 22:55

Yes I thought it was disappointing too. The actors made it worth it, and the set etc but it really did seem to lack both plot and charm.
