I’m a big fan of the original however I was really disappointed in this. All of the actors are fab in it but I think it lacked all of the charm of the original film ( also on Netflix). It’s a shame as I was looking forward to it and was just disappointed.

We enjoyed it but yeah - definitely preferred the first one. This one was a very different vibe and not convinced it would stand up to re-watching.

DD was going off it at the time of watching it in terms of things that didn't stand up to scrutiny whereas i was going with it but left with that kind of empty calories feeling you get with some really crappy food 😂

SequinsandStilettos · 26/12/2022 08:14

Just finished. Loved it.
Preferred it to the first one.

OneFrenchEgg · 26/12/2022 08:18

Think I gave up watching so it was just on in the room. Teens loved it, I found it a bit boring and hard to follow (mainly due to Prosecco and not really watching). Bits were funny.

Hbh17 · 26/12/2022 08:30

The first one was much more engaging. I think the budget was too big for Glass Onion, at the expense of a decent plot. The last 20 minutes were just silly.

Salome61 · 26/12/2022 09:55

My daughter told me about these, I watched Glass Onion first, I found it very enjoyable.

BeyondMyWits · 26/12/2022 10:01

I thought it was tedious and charmless and picked up my phone in the first 20 min... not a sign of a good film.

mrstea301 · 26/12/2022 10:02

I enjoyed it! Thought it was funny and liked the cast, Janelle Monae was good, I haven't seen her in much before.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the writer spent about ten years writing Knives Out, so it makes sense that the story for that one is a bit more intricate and detailed than for Glass Onion, but I think it was still good, I'd probably watch it again after a while.

Frazzled2207 · 26/12/2022 10:06

watched it last night, generally liked but far too long and fell asleep- will catch up tonight. Not amazing but a good whodunnit - nice to watch at Christmas

loved Kate Hudson’s outfits! And Daniel Craig’s ridiculous accent

Greensleevevssnotnose · 26/12/2022 10:07

We watched it on Christmas Eve Eve and I fell asleep so finished it off on Christmas Eve we both loved it.

Beercrispsandnuts · 26/12/2022 10:09

I didn’t Really rate the first, but I thought the second was Really good, much better and very much enjoyed it.

Outtasteamandluck · 26/12/2022 19:15

I loved this. Loads better than the first.

chary · 26/12/2022 19:20

i liked it but way too long as most films these days are.

cataline · 26/12/2022 19:28

We all really liked it!

Willmafrockfit · 27/12/2022 08:34

i enjoyed it very much,
it was like an agatha christie

I loved it! Completely agree, this felt like an Agatha Christie and would be what she would be writing about if she was around today. Apparently the cast played murder mystery games every night while they were filming.

Penguinsaregreat · 27/12/2022 23:25

I thought it was better than the first one.
I would have preferred Daniel Craig to play a British detective and use his own accent.

Willmafrockfit · 28/12/2022 06:07

i dont remembert seeing Daniel Craig dance in this but I am sure he was talkign to Graham Norton about learning to dance for this?

Willmafrockfit · 28/12/2022 06:08

oh, google has just shown it was a vodka advert, ignore my post

ApolloandDaphne · 28/12/2022 06:27

We watched them both. One on Christmas Day and the second on Boxing Day. They were both great fun. All three generations loved them. It can be difficult to find something for us all to watch but they were a triumph.

isthismylifenow · 28/12/2022 06:31

I enjoyed them both.

They are silly murder mysteries, I called them both in the first 5 minutes 😂

And Daniel Craig's accent was so much worse in the first one, which made them even more silly.

I don't think it will win any awards, but it was nice light viewing.

MintyFreshOne · 28/12/2022 06:55

I didn’t think it was good. The last twenty minutes or so were horrendous

Darhon · 28/12/2022 07:06

I was prepared to be disappointed due to the reviews but I really enjoyed it and it’s a long film. I thought it was well paced. The plot is ridiculous but the first one was silly too.

TugboatAnnie · 28/12/2022 09:47

Daniel Craig got slower and sillier in the second one. If he agrees to do another then it should be on the basis of him really being James Bond and the first two adventures was him having a mid-life crisis and trying out another persona.

MissHavershamReturns · 28/12/2022 15:13

@MintyFreshOne I loved the last twenty minutes!

I also like slow D Craig @TugboatAnnie Miss Marple couldn’t rush around but she still caught all the killers!

Sausagenbacon · 28/12/2022 22:40

I walked out of Knives Out and gave up on GO after 20 minutes. Dull twaddle.
