Okay hive mind, show me what you can do!
I think the quote is from an old British movie -

"Everyone's been terribly, terribly kind..."

Possibly a classic male British actor? Anyone got any suggestions? It's driving me MAD! 😬

I'm sure it's been quoted as what John LeMesurier said on his death bed, whether he was quoting someone else thought ??

I think that was " It's all been rather lovely"
Which was also used for the title of his biography
What a wonderful thing to be able to say on your deathbed.

The quote made me think immediately of Peter Sellers as Chance the gardener (Chauncy Gardiner) in "Being There."

Sorry if this has already been suggested, but it immediately made me picture the ending of Goodbye Mr Chips. Any good?

Housewife 49? Goodnight Mister Tom?

Three Men in a Boat? I'm hearing it in Tim Curry's voice

I don't think it's a quotation at all, just a commonly used phrase in several films.

Could it be from a much more recent film A Royal Night Out? I have a feeling Princess Margaret says this line.

I'm No Angel (1933)

"Kirk: Well anyway, you've been awfully kind. I'll never forget you.
Tira: No one ever does."

It's from Dads Army, the posh gent knocking off the lad's mum!

Or is it the 80s Wind in the Willows?
