I have a looooong list:

The Green Mile
Schindler's list
Atonement
The Colour Purple
History of Violence
American History X
Seven

All horror films - accidentally watched a Centipede one and was horribly disturbed

OP posts:

The Hitcher - really freaked me out.

Rosemary's Baby - too scary.

I don't watch horror - the above films were too much for me.

MiraB · 03/01/2018 18:16

Picnic at Hanging Rock - beautiful, enigmatic and extremely disturbing.

MiraB · 03/01/2018 18:17

The Blair Witch Project - Not for the faint-hearted !

Arrietty123 · 03/01/2018 18:20

Saving private Ryan still haunts me. Just the one scene on particular where one of the team gets stabbed. Utterly horrible to watch.

N2986 · 03/01/2018 18:22

Absolutely agree with my little eye and last House on the left

WaitrosePigeon · 03/01/2018 18:23

The Seasoning House.

I genuinely nearly had to go to see the GP after that.

Homunculus · 03/01/2018 18:38

I love horror and gore, a lot of my favourite films on here.Grin the only one i really could not stomach watching again is Human Centipede 2, horrific even for meShock

witchofzog · 03/01/2018 18:48

Another vote for Once We Were Warriors. A too graphic nz film with some awful domestic violence (the worst scene over a bloody fried egg from what I remember)

And Threads. Just awful. And it ends by saying that in all probability, nuclear war would be much much worse than this film. The thought of anything worse makes me shudder

60percentofthetime · 03/01/2018 18:51

Under the Skin with Scarlett Johansson. The whole film is weird and disturbing but the scene with the baby on the beach is too traumatic.

GreyCloudsToday · 03/01/2018 18:59

The Orphanage - just too tragic and upsetting, it totally got into my head.

LimePickleEnthusiast · 03/01/2018 19:00

Bambi
Watership Down

I'm a lightweight.

Eminybob · 03/01/2018 19:02

Watership down when I was 7.

The Impossible

Eminybob · 03/01/2018 19:03

Oh and most horror films too, but especially The Hills Have Eyes.

InternetHoopJumper · 03/01/2018 19:05

The Whistleblower.

It has an absolutely horrendous rape-scene towards the end. While I think it was important the film got made, I got the message without that scene.

BitOfFun · 03/01/2018 19:06

Pan's Labyrinth
Irreversible
Detachment

NameChanger22 · 03/01/2018 19:06

Not a film, but the last series of Walking Dead is very disturbing.

As far as films go, I can't watch horror anymore. I really wish I'd never seen Paranormal Activity, I was not mentally right for a year after that.

hollowtree · 03/01/2018 19:09

Jeepers Creepers 🤤😨 ruined my sleep for years

user764329056 · 03/01/2018 19:13

Agree with a PP about The Bridge, a film documentary about suicide at The Golden Gate Bridge, watched it years ago and it still haunts me

sugaredstrawberries · 03/01/2018 19:19

Sinister Confused I watch a lot of horrors but there's something about that one that is just way to freaky Blush

DeadButDelicious · 03/01/2018 19:22

The passion of the Christ is the only film I can remember just sitting open mouthed with tears rolling down my face. The cruelty. Just awful.

I won't watch the babadook again. That stuck with me for a couple of nights afterwards. I tend not to like horror films involving children. The exorcist scared the shit out of me as a child. The Blair witch spooked me as well.

I've read the synopsis for a Serbian film and that is just horrendous. How that got made I have no idea. Vile.

KittyVonCatsington · 03/01/2018 19:23

I stupidly watched American Sniper when 20+ weeks pregnant, at the cinema. Really shook me up that did Confused

DoubleNegativePanda · 03/01/2018 19:23

Ex-DH made me watch American History X. I am still scarred. I'm also horrified when I think about the fact that there are people like that living in my town. I live in the south of the US.

I've just read the synopsis for A Serbian Film and fuck me but that's hideous. What is wrong with people!!

I don't watch horror at all and very, very rarely watch anything that could be considered a drama or stressful. Life is fucking horrible enough, I don't need to watch stuff like that for "entertainment".

NeganLovesLucille · 03/01/2018 19:24

I had forgotten about Event Horizon. I love good horror, but that one really freaked me out. So did the original version of Flatliners with keifer sutherland. Don't know why. Can't really remember, but i do remember feeling really disturbed about it for a while afterwards.

Zhabr · 03/01/2018 19:25

I don't mind to be scared, sad or disturbed. Many films mentioned here I have watched and enjoyed. However Spanish film Sleep Tight was really disgusting and disturbing. It is a very good film though.

Ratinthehat · 03/01/2018 19:28

Forgot about flatliners that made me feel very uneasy and like you I have no idea why.

I would never watch the Blair witch project again as I found it so dull. I think it was every one at my school talking about it that ruined it for me.
