I loved the remake of Cinderella.

Beauty and the Beast was amazing. A bit dark in some places but I loved it.

We preferred this to Cinderella by far. However, we prefer the animated BATB more than the original Cinderella also.

GoldenWorld · 20/03/2017 11:55

Falcon YES my sister and I said exactly the same thing. The beast looked quite muscular and hunky, when he turned back to the prince we were like....oh. Sorry Dan Stevens but it's time to grow that facial hair back. Grin

Ulysses · 21/03/2017 13:05

I thought it was okay but wouldn't watch it again. Emma Watson and Dan Stevens were v bland and best bits were without them. I really liked Cinderella though!

kittensarecute · 21/03/2017 16:20

I'm watching it tonight! Can't wait.

dollarstodonuts · 21/03/2017 16:45

I thought Ewan McGregor made a cracking candelabra but Gaston stole the show. It was visually stunning and bit light on the acting....but it's Disney....it's not exactly high brow stuff here. BUT I wish Disney would knock it off with the wolves! Wolves don't randomly hunt and attack people. This does wolves no favours and demonises a critical key predator that is actually quite afraid of people. Not cool Disney.

floatingfrog · 21/03/2017 22:03

Yes I thought the same. Why do they do that with wolves? They are shy creatures who keep away from humans.Confused

crunched · 21/03/2017 22:12

Loved it ! Tears and laughter and I agree that Gaston was wonderfully cast.

LittleCandle · 21/03/2017 22:17

I thought it was great and Emma Watson made Belle real, not the dimbo of the original movie. Gaston was a delight and so were Ewan McGregor and Ian McKellen. The gay 'scene' was a few seconds that would go past 99% of the kids there. The visuals were good, the singing was fine, given that Emma Watson isn't a professional singer. Emma Thomson was irritating, but no change there. Dan Stevens is not at all good looking and was far handsomer as the Beast.

MrsJayy · 22/03/2017 11:38

I loved it Emma watson didn't irritate me once it was visually stunning funny touching Gaston casting was brilliant just loved if was a couple of hours of magical escapism , i would go see it again.

MrsJayy · 22/03/2017 11:40

Although Emma Thompson cor blimey accent wtf was that about Grin

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 22/03/2017 13:36

Saw it yesterday with 3.5yo DD who wasn't scared but it didn't hold her interest. I absolutely adored it, especially the opening sequence. I love Emma W but I'm afraid her acting wasn't up to scratch. She didn't enchant me in the least.

Luke Evans as Gaston and the guy who played Le Fou totally stole the show. Wonderful film!

MrsJayy · 22/03/2017 13:40

La fou is Josh Gad he was olaf in frozen he was v v funny. I dont think it is a film for under 5s their attention spans are not up to it i can see how they could get bored,

MrsJayy · 22/03/2017 13:41

Le fou sorry

Rosa · 22/03/2017 13:45

watched in in Italian so the singing was good as it was the ususal Disney dubbers. Saw it with DD8 who loved it ! We both want to see it
in English though !

Jolinda · 22/03/2017 13:57

I took my 8 yr old son and we both loved it. I was worried because I am a B&TB fan, it's always been my favourite of all the Disney films but I wasn't disappointed. I like Emma Watson too but as an HP fan can only see her as Hermione so was doubly concerned; however, I did not find her disappointing or distracting as I had feared. My only disappointment was the dancing scene wasn't as dreamy as it could have been. I agree with all that Luke Evans was brilliant as Gaston, as for Mrs Pott's accent....it needed to mirror Jessica Lang's because that is so familiar to us all.

CalmItKermitt · 23/03/2017 13:37

Jessica Lang?? 😄

Groovee · 23/03/2017 19:36

The original Mrs Potts x

ijustwannadance · 23/03/2017 19:47

Angela Lansbury was mrs potts in cartoon version.

Housewife2010 · 23/03/2017 22:18

In the film characters keep talking about what a beauty Belle is. I thought Emma Watson looked rather plain.

CalmItKermitt · 23/03/2017 23:42

Are you maybe thinking of Jessica Fletcher (played by Angela Lansbury)?

Purple999Red · 24/03/2017 06:40

will be watching it today with my daughter

Trollspoopglitter · 24/03/2017 06:55

Wolves have always been in fairy tales as a cautionary measure throughout Europe! If you're lost in a forest with your livestock hundreds of years ago, chances are your animal will attract the attention of a hungry pact.

Plus there's always the extreme cases that grow into legends / future fairy tales en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirov_wolf_attacks

InfiniteSheldon · 24/03/2017 07:01

I loved it was very sceptical 're EW but I thought she was fantastic and the costumes were wondergul, I cried loads Le Fou was fabulous 10/10 overall

floatingfrog · 24/03/2017 07:39

wizzywig · 24/03/2017 08:36

Nah. Not for me. I switched off i was bored. The beast annoyed me. And angela lansbury shouldve been mrs potts
