Who's seen it?
I went this evening and really enjoyed it. Laughed out loud, thought soundtrack was excellent too.
So, who would you do? Mark or Jack?

I heard that as a sarcastic "lol I don't know what to do with the kid no wait only kidding I look after him all the time because he's also my kid".

Maybe it was explicitly that in one version of the ending...

BikeRunSki · 04/10/2016 19:21

I saw it on Friday, by myself. I had a day off work while the DC were at school. I loved it, I thought it was the perfect end to Bridget's story, and fills the gap between "Edge of Reason" and "Mad About the Boy" very well.

Of course it was Mark. He's her lobster.

Trills · 04/10/2016 19:42

I thought that it couldn't possibly be in the same universe as Mad About The Boy... because Daniel... But then they left the door open to do it! :o

And this makes more sense of the timeline - why is Bridget 50 with SMALL children?

NameChange30 · 04/10/2016 21:10

No Mad About the Boy spoilers please, haven't read it yet!

CocktailQueen · 04/10/2016 21:15

I loved the film. Haven't laughed so much for ages.

You have to suspend disbelief re the story line - and Bridget does not cover herself in glory the way she handles her pg, as a woman in her 40s.

But - Mark Darcy. Even though he us insanely repressed, he us fab.

And every scene With Emma Thompson in it is excellent.

Loved it. The scene where they carry Bridget into the hospital ...!

Trills · 04/10/2016 21:30

On Monday Mad About The Boy will be three years old.

You'll forgive me for thinking that on a thread for people who watched Bridget Jones's Baby within the first three weeks, I assumed that you either had read the book or did not have any strong intention to do so. :)

mycatwantstokillme1 · 04/10/2016 21:33

Had to force my 17 year old son to come and see it with me, he was practically kicking and screaming. However even he loved it! I didn't think it would be as good as the first 2, but it was.

Went on my own to see it today and loved it.

Way better Than the 2nd film. Up there with number one.

I'm mark darcy all the way

haveacupoftea · 15/10/2016 12:45

I loved it, although I could spend all day pointing out what was wrong with it! Have you ever seen a bride left alone to wander around after her wedding for a start?

It was all good fun though i did miss Daniel.

I would like to pretend Mad About The Boy never happened Confused

rookiemere · 17/10/2016 09:43

I saw it last night, I didn't have great expectations and I actually loved it right from the very start when they moved from sad lonely music to Bridget miming to whatever pop hit it was. Struck some chords as a 40 something Blush.

I was howling with laughter at some of the scenes particularly the gangman one.

I wouldn't like to pick it apart as it probably wouldn't stand up to rigid evaluation of plausibility as it was such a wonderful guilty pleasure.

3catsandcounting · 17/10/2016 10:07

Everybody that I've spoken to has raved about how 'hilarious' and 'brilliant' this film is.
I'm a big fan of Bridget Jones, always have been, but this one... just didn't find it that funny. Mildly amusing maybe.

I must have had a sense of humour failure that evening, but then the cinema was pretty full of groups of women, and the whole place was fairly quiet; you could sweet wrappers 6 rows back!

I found the change in Renee's face hard to get past, and only saw 'Bridget' when she did her goofy awkwardness.
Loved Emma Thompson though!

RockyBird · 21/03/2017 13:38

I'm with you 3cats though I don't think Renee's face is that different or distracting.

The film was okay. That's all. I found it mildly amusing and it was good to see the old faces.

RockyBird · 21/03/2017 13:39

Oh I'm late to this thread because I only saw it for the first time today.

MusicToMyEars800 · 24/03/2017 10:49

I watched it ages ago, it was brilliant made me laugh so much. I couldn't choose between the two of them Grin

ittooshallpass · 19/04/2017 23:25

Just watched it... thought it was amusing. Definitely not laugh out loud. Renee's face was too distracting. it was really noticeable that the rest of the cast have aged without surgery... and looked better for it!
