Film reccommendations - a challenge!

I love watching films of most genres so any film suggestions welcome if you want to share your favourites but what I'd really like are some horror/thriller recommendations BUT not gory, not supernatural/paranormal, nothing where anyone is possessed.

I like films that make you a bit scared/uneasy but not feel like vomiting because of all the blood and guts (like saw).

If it helps some of the TV and films I like that's about the level of 'gore/horror' I don't mind would be stalker, Luther, dexter and criminal minds, scream, nightmare on elm street, and seven, though that was borderline!

It follows was a very strange film! I also quite liked The Visit.

Not scary or thriller like in the slightest but if you haven't seen it yet, 'Now you see me' is worth a watch if you like plot twists.

Omg,
I have seen the Visit.
I thought it was amazing and it kept us all guessing to the very end.
I had to cover my eyes a couple of times.haha.

I recently enjoyed 10 clover field lane. It keeps you guessing all the way through.

Yes, I watched 10 Clover field Lane at the weekend.
I didn't expect the ending, but it was good.
I thought The Visit was better.

I find Guillermo del Toro's films disturbing!
I always like M.Night Shyamalan's movies and I enjoyed The Visit, but I didn't mull over it afterwards in the way that I had after some of his other films, so I felt a tiny bit let down!

Yy to Silence of the Lambs! Not so much the Hannibal Lechter and Clarice interaction but the bits with the serial killer and the girls in the pit, wanting to use their skin. Freaks me out and I still won't let my Dd 16 watch it (luckily she still listens to me sometimes!).

Misery with James Caan and Kathy Bates. A masterclass in unsettling and queasy movie making. Brilliant film but I can't actually face watching it again, it's really scary because the context is so normal.

What lies beneath I thought was very gripping.

And one that's clever but not really in the same genre is the game, found it very gripping with loads of twists

It Follows. Read a thread on here where it was mostly panned. It was on Prime so thought sod it. Gave it a watch and loved it. Considering one of my persistent dreams (as described on another thread) is being followed it struck a chord with me.

Event Horizon - a bit of gore but not enough to make to ill! It's not excessive, it's appropriate to the story. I still won't watch it for a second time, nearly 10 years after watching it the first time!
Frailty - yes! Really good movie and very few people have actually seen it.
Candyman - another one I can't/won't watch a second time. I think the music has a lot to do with that.
The shining and misery are both brilliant too. Dolores Claiborne too.
The Green Mile is quite horrifying too, the book is worse because it goes into more detail. Many people say it isn't but if you actually think about the events and the characters, it really is!

We just watched the first series of Stranger Things on Netflix - really tense, and whole family ( 15 upwards) enjoyed it.

Got to be Primal fear with Richard Gere and Edward Norton. Brilliant. You get a really unsettling feeling throughout the whole film.

I love 'The Changeling', the George.C.Scott one. Has a nice 'chill' to it.
Someone else mentioned 'The Haunting' which is great.
Also 'Frozen' - not the kids one! Scary stuff happening in the snow..
