Tween sleepover movies?

DD is having a sleepover for her 11th birthday- all girls. They want to watch a film. DD wants to be grown up and won't entertain anything that is rated anything lower than a 12. I wasn't happy with her being allowed to watch the latest James bond at a school sleepover, but I was the only parent who seemed to object so we let her otherwise she would have felt left out. Therefore I don't think the other girl's parents care too much about what they watch. She has already seen Pitch Perfect, Clueless, Spectre.

So! Recommendations please for movies the girls will enjoy that are a 12 or lower and 'grown up' and 'cool' enough? No animated disney!

Had a look into some of the suggstions, thanks everyone. DD likes the sound of Mean Girls, think we're going to go with that, followed by episodes friends, which they all love, if they have time.

Blackfish?? Might be good to watch, but not for a sleepover! Lighthearted and fun is definitely the order of the day!

Mean Girls is written by Tina Fey and is full of memorable quotes. You'll find your daughter repeating many of them as they're so catchy.

My 11 year old loved Mean girls - she also recently watched the original Independence Day - really enjoyed it.

What about old school films like the breakfast club or the original Ghost busters or flight of the navigator.

Saving Mr Banks?
Based on a true story behind Mary Poppins and making it into a film.
It's brilliant Smile

Mean Girls is fantastic. And Whip It is also excellent.

Studio Ghibli films seem pretty safe, if parents concerned are very squeamish about ratings.
