So I've been watching Star Trek and...

...I think I'd like to be a Vulcan. Logic, clever quips, excellent eyebrows. Could get a grip over those pesky emotions too (bloody anxiety).

Anyone else think Spock is dreamy?

Yeah but Kes had ISSUES.

Bananalanacake · 02/03/2016 21:28

My DD is named after a Star Trek character, her father's choice.

magoria · 02/03/2016 21:30

Vulcan logic.

If you have an empty glass and you half fill it, your glass is half full.

If you have a full glass and half empty it, your glass is half empty.

There's a colony of feral cats in Canada that are mostly named after Star Trek characters. Savina and Neelix are both currently pregnant and in foster care....

Excellent, Bananalanacake! The show(s) have so many great names in them. I also approve of the cats named after Star Trek characters. Combining two great things!

It's been forever since I watched Voyager and my memories of Kes are a bit hazy, but that situation did get very weird.

I still want to be a Vulcan most of all. Lots of meditation and cultivating an air of slight superiority. Great robes too now that I think back.

Thank you so much all of you for telling me it was Tribbles- I want one so much!

I loved Voyager. My favourite episode was when hot Chakotay and Janeway were stranded for months on a planet and nearly did it.

They'd have made a lovely couple if he hadn't have hooked up with Seven.

I wish I could unknow Voyager so I could watch it all again Sad

WonderingAspie · 02/03/2016 22:31

Which star trek series banana? I love the name Ezri and Jadziah but don't think I'd ever have the guts to use it. Nerys is nice too.

I'd like to be a Q. You would know everything!

Talisin · 02/03/2016 23:07

Many, many Tribbles. All neutered and safe to keep as house pets.

My son is named after a star trek character.... I wish I could say it was my husbands idea Blush

I LOVED voyager. Neelix didn't annoy me though... I thought he was a lovely counterpoint to Tuvok. Vulcans are great but star trek enterprise made them seem like dicks tbh

BadLad · 03/03/2016 07:04

Yeah but Kes had ISSUES

Not as much as the actress who played her - Jennifer Lien - has.

BadLad · 03/03/2016 07:07

On topic - I think I'd like to be a shapeshifter, like Odo, although he looks a bit too much like David Cameron.

Last choice would be a member of Federation security. Any time they beam down to a planet with bridge officers, you just know they are going to get killed.

Mouseinahole · 03/03/2016 07:55

I quite fancy being an empath like Deanna Troy but best of all would be the Whoopi Goldberg character Guinan. I'm never sure exactly who/what she is but I think she is awesome .

LaurieFairyCake · 03/03/2016 08:19

Ffs, I've just bid on one on EBay

I'll add that to the list of shizzle Mumsnet makes me buy HmmGrin

LetThereBeCupcakes · 03/03/2016 08:23

Think Guinan was El Aurion?

Crikey, Bad. Didn't know about any of that!

Notasinglefuckwasgiven · 03/03/2016 08:34

I'd be a Q. Brilliant god like, childish Q. Betazoids are too wishy washy. Bajorans were hardcore I liked them.

Trills · 03/03/2016 08:42

Being a joined Trill would be great.

But I think they have a very strict hierarchy on who is the "elite" and who is not.

Didn't we find out that all of the "only some people have the capacity to be joined" thing was actually bollocks and it was mainly just social engineering? The Powers That Be only wanted people who behaved and thought in a certain way to have the privilege of being joined, but biologically nearly everyone could do it.

Notasinglefuckwasgiven · 03/03/2016 08:48

Yes. Trills are elitist. Humans act like the human race is perfect too mind you...but, Turkana 4? Bad place!

CrushedNinjas · 03/03/2016 08:51

My DH walks just like W. Riker. Obviously, it was the first thing that attracted me.

Clearly, I'm the spit of Troy. I have brown hair and ample bosom. Wink

Mouseinahole · 03/03/2016 09:02

Well I have ample bosom and dh has a beard there the resemblance ends :)
We watched 'Generations' on tv last week. Kirk and Picard in one film, it was errrr interesting 😁

Notasinglefuckwasgiven · 03/03/2016 09:51

If I could be a character it would be Dr Crusher. Great character she could do everything

Chippednailvarnish · 03/03/2016 10:13

Dr crusher is apparently worth $168m in real life Shock

Notasinglefuckwasgiven · 03/03/2016 10:39

No way! I picked the right character Wink

invisiblegorilla · 03/03/2016 11:23

Wow, she must have invested soundly over the years.

Speaking of cash, wasn't the Federation near-post-scarcity? No currency, or something. Never quite understood how that worked, but it sounded nice.
