I think tonight calls for a really good creepy horror film. Dp hasn't watched many bar saw, but it does need to be realistic-y (ie no zombies/ zombeavers) can be old or new. Ideally on sky rental thing, which most tend to be.

I was thinking maybe the grudge/ring. Preferably nothing too old-fashioned, we tried the birds, Carrie and wicker man but were none too taken.

Please Grin

Seen Borderlands thought it was really good, till the end.Cabin in the Woods has a good twist you really dont see coming.

blackheartsgirl · 05/07/2015 11:44

What scared me with Blair witch was the extras on the dvd. Especially to do with the ruck sack and the car. Total head fuck. for me anyway.

Skeleton Key
The others. Found that creepy and very sad at the same time.

I won't be watching the poughkeepsie tapes Shock . I don't do torture, gore or anything like that. looks awful. what was the scary scene?

IHaveBrilloHair · 05/07/2015 12:03

I just read the synopsis of the poughkeepsie tapes and it's enough to scare me to death, won't be watching that.

Idontseeanydragons · 05/07/2015 12:46

The Others is very creepy - don't google memorial photos afterwards like I did though... It made the creepy even worse!

The original Japanese Ringu (The Ring) and Gruon (I think that's how it's spelt - The Grudge) are terrifying!

Didn't know Odd Thomas was on Netflix, must have a watch of that, I loved the book.

BanditoShipman · 05/07/2015 17:49

Watched It FOllows last night - bloody hell it sucked!!!!!

dustarr73 · 05/07/2015 18:02

Paranormal Activity1 is very good.Don't bother with the rest

NightOwl17 · 05/07/2015 18:18

A few people have already mentioned it but the scariest film I've watched is Sinister. Properly made me jump!

I love a horror but that gave me bad dreams!

bostonbaby · 06/07/2015 09:40

Poughkeepsie Tapes sounds just my thing Blush
Will give it a watch tonight

blackheartsgirl · 06/07/2015 11:58

Now I liked paranormal activity 3, the one where the sisters were small. couple of scenes in that freaked me out a bit Blush

white noise I thought was horrible. but then I'm easily freaked

fattymcfatfat · 06/07/2015 12:04

I cant remember the last good horror I watched.
Rosemarys baby is a good film, but I cant watch it when pregnant or I get nightmares

gotredonyou · 06/07/2015 12:22

Agree with Cabin in the woods- that really freaked me out.

Going to watch 'The Orphanage' next thanks to this thread!

watch It Follows.
released last year.
not gory but very frightening.

schmaylee · 09/07/2015 17:19

As above so below. Creeped me out and was in my mind for ages!!

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 09/07/2015 18:14

Bostonbaby, did you watch Poughkeepsie tapes?

ThisIsNotWhatIWasAfter · 10/07/2015 19:10

The Strangers

I'm pretty desensitised and that gave me the shivers. Second Eden Lake and Dog Soldiers

splodge77 · 10/07/2015 22:55

It follows and The Babadook - both veeeerrry creepy.

BanditoShipman · 12/07/2015 09:48

Loved the strangers. Eden lake has stayed with me since I watched it several years ago, really good. For grim, gritty UK horror try mum and dad, really grim though

jn367502 · 15/07/2015 09:47

dark skys freaked me out

MoonriseKingdom · 26/07/2015 23:32

For anyone who likes there horror in Spanish (a few Guillermo del Toro fans on this thread) I would recommend:

Julia's eyes - woman losing her sight thinks her sister was murdered

The Skin I live in - Antonio Banderas in the weirdest, darkest film I have ever seen

Bettercallsaul1 · 27/07/2015 06:25

Don't Look Now - without a doubt! Scariest film I've ever seen because the underlying situation is so believable (and tragic.). The horror is based on reality and builds throughout to a terrifying conclusion. Visually beautiful and acting wonderful. Still wouldn't watch it on my own...

MadeMan · 04/08/2015 12:35

Communion is fairly creepy if you watch at night with lights off.

ShortandSweeter · 05/08/2015 12:18

'A Serbian Film'. Some might say it's distasteful though.

GreenMary · 05/08/2015 20:43

My favourite is The Blair Witch Project. It's rather old, but very creepy as for me.

bodenbiscuit · 13/09/2015 08:22

I really liked It Follows, particularly because it seemed to be set in the 70s or 80s.
