Crap films you love

I realised recently that some of my favourite films are ones that are considered shit by most film buffs.

Grease 2
Supergirl
Flashdance
The Phantom of the Opera ( film version of the ALW musical )

Oh and Holiday on the Buses. I know it's awful, dated sexist rubbish but it makes me just howl with laughter. It was also filmed in and around Prestatyn and Rhyl in North Wales, which I'm pretty familiar with with.

OP posts:

Critters is on Amazon. In fact almost any film you can think of is. Sometimes you strike lucky and it's free through prime. I watched Critters last week. :o

KingJoffreyFanciesDarylDixon · 13/05/2015 02:09

Dude, Where's My Car
Freddie Got Fingered
Pricilla, Queen Of The Desert.

We have the Critters boxset.

Romy and Michelle's high school reunion Grin

greyhound8 · 13/05/2015 07:14

Muriel's Wedding is so not crap - it's brilliant: funny, touching, sad. Amazing film!

My guilty pleasure.....The Wedding Date with Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney.

Pispcina · 13/05/2015 07:18

I waited about 30 YEARS to watch flashdance and it was just...meh. Maybe I'm too old Sad

All time favourite of crapness has to be Power Rangers: The Movie.

It's Camp like you've never known Camp before Smile

Pispcina · 13/05/2015 07:21

I smell teenagers!

Crap films you love
QueenofLouisiana · 13/05/2015 07:27

Ahhhhhh- I think I've found nirvana! So many crap great movies...

Personal favourites:
Dude, where's my car?
Ferris Bueller....
Harold and Kuhmar get the munchies
10 things I hate about you

Also all the American Pie movies and The Inbetweeners movies. Less cheesy perhaps, but totally against my real life persona. Love them!

echt · 13/05/2015 07:42

FallenMadonna, I clicked on this thread to vote for Carry on Up the Khyber.

Some great lines: Sultan of Kharzi: "Fakir. Off." :o

The only Carry On filmed abroad - Wales.

AmIthatHot · 13/05/2015 08:12

Muriel's wedding and ferris bueller regularly feature in top movie type shows. They're not crap.

Mannequin is crap, but it has Andre McCarthy being all sweet, so good crap Grin

WD41 · 13/05/2015 08:15

Family Man with Nicholas Cage, live that one
The Lake House

WD41 · 13/05/2015 08:16

Love not live!

YourMaNoBraBackOfMyCar · 13/05/2015 15:51

I like the Family Man. I love the alternative life he wakes up to. So homely, cosy and friendly. Blush
The lake house bored the tits off me. My friend organised a fancy girly night in with face packs, champers, posh snacks etc. when they put it on I went for a long bath in her nice jacuzzi. By the time I went downstairs the credits were rolling. Feeling smug with myself I sat down. To my horror they suggested watching it again. :( Gutted.

My ultimate favourite film, without irony is a movie called Hot Rod, I knew from the first 30 seconds that it would forever be in my heart Wink it's been 8 years and I still love it.

I also love Family Man, in fact I love anything with Nicholas Cage, Moonlighting anyone.

shakemysilliesout · 13/05/2015 19:26

Christmas shoes

MasterOfMuppets · 13/05/2015 20:17

I sat through St Elmo's Fire last month. It was crap yet strangely easy to watch.

Airplane!

Sparklingbrook · 13/05/2015 20:18

Noooo!! St Elmo's Fire is my second favourite film ever.

mrsleomcgary · 13/05/2015 20:50

So many genuinely good films being mentioned in this thread...

Mine are Showgirls, Sharknado and the best bad film of all time - Saturday Night Fever 2
