So when we were teenagers and watched this, we all preferred non-threatening cutie Duckie over drippy creep Blaine.. yes? But now we're in the full flower of mature womanhood... I think we're all agreed that we'd rip James Spader's white chinos off with our teeth, no questionGrin

Ida yy to Judd in TBC! soooooooooo gorgeous!!! And John Cusack in Say Anything

Mannequin is just fab - one of my first favourite films :) great song too!

I completely fell in love with PinP from the moment I saw it. I watched it so many times I can quote parts of it verbatim. I still love the soundtrack too - where else would OMD share space with The Smiths and Echo and the Bunnymen!

SEA i seem to remember thinking it was some kind of private school with funded scholarship places (and that was how Andie and her friends were there) hence the obvious cliques and where they sat/hung out/parked

I went to see Pretty in Pink on my first date. I love it. I would have picked Duckie though. I just love him.

I also love the breakfast club and Saint Elmo's fire.

BTW, I've actually met Andrew McCarthy. Are you jealous? His wife is Irish and he lives here in Dublin some of the time, I went to an event he was at. Got my picture taken with him.

rob Lowe is gorgeous!

James Spader without a doubt (though it makes me sad to see how he's aged - have I aged so badly and just not realised??). In PinP and in Sex, Lies and Videotape.
And Kiefer in the Lost Boys. Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old.

I'm not sure that any of the male characters were particularly fanciable in Pretty in Pink, although it's a very, very long time since I was a teenager so perhaps I did fancy one of them at the time and have forgotten. I had a type back then which was more along the dark-hair-strong-jaw lines, so I really fancied Rob Low, John Cusack and Christian Slater but wasn't at all interested in the soft blondness of James Spader.

I do rate JS as an actor though, he's very enthralling to watch. And I really admire that he has allowed himself to age and resisted the whole botox/surgery thing, it means he can still do close up facial expressions when some other actors his age have to use long-shot body language to express emotions.
