I particularly liked Pretty in Pink.
But also Breakfast Club.
And other films of the same mould, not necessarily all with Molly Ringwald in them.
Whatever happened to her anyway?

Can you tell I have the Brat Pack Confidential book?

Info is as follows:

The "Brat Pack" was a group of young actors and actresses that became famous in the 1980s and frequently appeared in teen-oriented films together. The name "Brat Pack" came from a 1985 cover story in New York magazine by David Blum (June 10, 1985, pp. 40-47). The term is a play on the Rat Pack from the 1960s. Popular films that featured members of the "Brat Pack" include:

The Outsiders (1983)
Sixteen Candles (1984)
Red Dawn (1984)
The Breakfast Club (1985)
St. Elmo's Fire (1985)
Weird Science (1985)
About Last Night (1986)
Pretty in Pink (1986)
The Lost Boys (1987)
The eight people most commonly included in the Brat Pack are:

Emilio Estevez
Anthony Michael Hall
Rob Lowe
Andrew McCarthy
Demi Moore
Judd Nelson
Molly Ringwald
Ally Sheedy
Other actors who appeared in films with the Brat Pack could be considered auxiliary members of the Pack:

Kevin Bacon
Matthew Broderick
Tom Cruise
John Cusack
Matt Dillon
Robert Downey, Jr.
Jami Gertz
Jennifer Grey
C. Thomas Howell
Diane Lane
Jon Cryer
Mary Stuart Masterson
Charlie Sheen
James Spader
Kiefer Sutherland

custardo - were you listening to Radio2 by any chance on Saturday? I heard Footloose then and was having a right dance to it whilst doing the ironing.

I did like Mooly Ringwald - I often think of her cutting her hair short to have her baby in that Maybe Baby film.

But my favourite was Ally Sheedy - I loved her, especially in St Elmo's Fire.

mosschops30 · 19/06/2006 17:44

but ally sheedy had a really dodgy bowl haircut .....saying that all 80's haircuts were dodgy!!

helsi · 19/06/2006 17:45

I heard it cupcakes - I had a good old dance too

We played Footloose at our wedding reception - got a few disdainful comments from some of the blokes, but us girls loved it! Grin

speaking of Ally Sheedy - did you see her in High Art a few years back? She was really good - I thought it was the beginning of her comeback, but don't think she's done anything else of note since has she?
