Mine are:

Out of Africa
The Piano
The English Patient

Can't decide whether Out of Africa or The Piano were more hideously dull. And the English Patient was just bloody irritating - it was such a relief when he died.

MI: What "gay subtext" in Brief Encounter?! I watched that film not more than a decade ago (that's equivalent to a couple of years in Parent Years) and I didn't notice so much as a smidgeon of gaiety.

Not really soppy etc, but I don't get anything Tarantino.... what is the point? Why do people rave about them?

Psycho

(psycho writing, not tarantino is a... although he probably is... to be fair, all this in brackets is Flame writing, hence the rambling Blush)

wilbur · 02/06/2006 15:03

Hated Terms of Endearment when I first saw it with a clutch of sobbing girlfriends, but I think I would probably sob now when she has to say goodbye to her kids.

ET boring, hate the bicycles bit, can't work out why Spielberg uses that for his logo.

expatinscotland · 02/06/2006 15:04

i agree, psycho. i find tarantino shite. all just violence. BFD. most three year olds are more creative.

he's kack and so are all his films.

Not particularly moving or deep but DH dragged me to see the remake of Planet of the Apes.

I have never been so bored - was looking at my watch every five mins and those five mins seemed like hours.

Utter rubbish!!!!!!1

expatinscotland · 02/06/2006 15:09

i was drunk when i saw pulp fiction and it just made want to boak.

maybe i should have just got stoned as well.

but it would have been a waste of good weed.

niceglasses · 02/06/2006 15:09

Don't know if 'moved' is the right word.....but

Mullholland Drive

Shite..

nailpolish · 02/06/2006 15:10

"Zeds dead baby Zeds dead"

expatinscotland · 02/06/2006 15:13

meowmix · 02/06/2006 15:39

tarantino films bore me senseless

eternal doodah of the thingummy whozit had GREAT reviews. Did they see a different film?

Also (and I'm well aware this is sacrilege)Star Wars? would rather sort my cds chronologically and alphabetically quite honestly

Radley · 02/06/2006 15:41

All three Lord Of The Rings
ALL of the Harry Potter
Reservoir Dogs, fell asleep after 10 mins

bogwobbit · 02/06/2006 15:46

Jerry Maguire - cute kid, deeply boring film.
Good Night & Good Luck - so dull, I feel asleep during it.
The Doors - walked out halfway through. Just awful.

peachyClair · 02/06/2006 16:09

Just remembered Lost In Space

Lost the pot more like.

gegs73 · 02/06/2006 19:08

expat can't remember the willy. Must have been so traumatic I blocked it from memory.

pesme · 02/06/2006 19:22

anything with tom cruise in it. every effing film is the same. he alternates the 'charming grinning' look and the 'intense blue eyes' look and then runs alot and sweats.

ShowOfHands · 02/06/2006 20:25

Oh Jim Carrey, I'd rather eat bricks than sit through any of his gurning, over-acted, self-indulgent "films". Ditto, Keira Knock Me Over With a Friggin Feather I Don't Diet I'm Naturally Emaciated There's Something Wrong With My Mouth Knightley.

And I heard so many good things about Sideways, then I watched it and was so bored I nearly turned it off and had a conversation with DH. Nearly.

saltire · 04/06/2006 14:56

I will not go and watch anything with Tom Cruise in it. Well, i lied there, because i did go and see Last Samurai. Can't stand The Piano, The english Patient either. Went to see Jarhead, only cos we couldn't get in to Walk The Line, and what a load of cack it was.

I enjoyed Gladiator, but i am a big fan of Joaquin phoenix. I wanted the tiger to eat Russel Crowe!!

dinosaure · 04/06/2006 15:11

Lost in Translation. Was really disappointed by it.
