Mine are:

Out of Africa
The Piano
The English Patient

Can't decide whether Out of Africa or The Piano were more hideously dull. And the English Patient was just bloody irritating - it was such a relief when he died.

Remember going to see 'Ghost' in the cinema and someone sitting behind me sobbed so loudly.

And I just sat there wondering what all the fuss was about!!!!

WideWebWitch · 27/05/2006 21:54

Love, actually
The Piano, agree, load of boring old twaddle
American Beauty, terrible imo

southeastastra · 27/05/2006 22:30

Gingerbear · 27/05/2006 22:36

Born on the 4th of July.
Tom Cruise in a wheelchair

'nuff said

moondog · 27/05/2006 22:37

lol Ginge!

moondog · 27/05/2006 22:38

That one with Mel Gibson when he paints his face blue and fights a lot.
Zzzzzzz

Pruni · 27/05/2006 22:39

Definitely The English Patient - just manipulative pish, really.
Ghost. Crap.
Love Actually was redeemed by that one story where the best friend is (unaccountably) in love with Kiera Knightly but is unable to say anything becaus ehe loves his friend too.
I loved the Piano though, but in an "I'm 20 and sensitive" sort of way.
American beauty made a big impression on me because of the performances but I saw it again and thought it was rather trite.

I'll throw in Gladiator.

Gingerbear · 27/05/2006 22:40

Or the one with Liam Neesom in a kilt and Jessica Lange with a baad Scotish accent.

Gingerbear · 27/05/2006 22:43

Oh, oh thought of another one -Dead Poet's Society

Dead Parrot Society would have been better

JonesTheSteam · 27/05/2006 22:43

Forrest Gump - hated it. Can't see what the hell all the fuss is about.

Tom Hanks with a dreadful southern accent!!!

I loved Gladiator!!!!!

moondog · 27/05/2006 22:44

Truly Madly Deeply - just embarrassing.

Also Shirley Valentine - the scene where she was was apparently walking through Mayfair with her Sainsburys bags on her way home finished it for me and it got worse after that.

JonesTheSteam · 27/05/2006 22:46

Good Will Hunting, moondog.

Actually quite liked that.

Find Robin Williams very schmaltzy though on the whole!!

A Beautiful Mind?
The Gladiator Bloke trying to be deep.

moondog · 27/05/2006 22:47

Oh Jan,TMD is wonderful.
Am dismayed at your sneery tone Sad

JanH · 27/05/2006 22:47

Agree on Robin Williams - Mrs Doubtfire another cringeworthy one.

JanH · 27/05/2006 22:48

Sorry, moondog Sad

Gingerbear · 27/05/2006 22:48

Janh - erm...can't recall - a rebellious teen perhaps??
