Avengers Assemble

I know this film has a 12A rating - if you have seen it, what age do you think it is suitable for?

DS is 9 - but gets scared fairly easily. DH wants to see it a lot - do I send him by himself? (DH is a bit down right now, and I would love to take him to the IMAX version, but that would need us all to go, as the cinema is too far for public transport, and DH won't drive there by himself)

I'm hoping the DVD or Bluray release will have a 'directors cut' on it - I hear they had to trim around 40 minutes, some of which dealt with Captain America and his missing 70 years - meeting old friends who were obviously now incredibly old etc.

Oh y that would be good!
