I know this film has a 12A rating - if you have seen it, what age do you think it is suitable for?

DS is 9 - but gets scared fairly easily. DH wants to see it a lot - do I send him by himself? (DH is a bit down right now, and I would love to take him to the IMAX version, but that would need us all to go, as the cinema is too far for public transport, and DH won't drive there by himself)

Crystals - I hope the spoilerish warning wasn't too spoilery in the end for you!

HarrietJ0nes · 07/05/2012 18:43

Just back, loved it. Can't pick out my favourite bits. Dh liked the shots of Black Widow from behind Hmm, some of his colleagues said it was even better in 3D Hmm Hmm

LetUsPrey · 07/05/2012 18:53

Tooks DS1 to see this on Saturday afternoon. Saw it in 3D. It was bloody brilliant! DS1 said it was awesome!

I have since recorded Thor (was on on Sunday morning) and really want to watch both Ironman films. Robert Downey Jr had some wonderful lines.

Captain America has a very lovely arse. Thor was really quite masterful. I do like a man who can swing his hammer. Grin

Sorry, meant to say - DS1 is 10 and didn't find it scary. Just awesome.

TheJoyfulPuddlejumper OT I know, but is that someone who jumps joyfully in puddles or a very happy spaceship designed by the Ancients to fit perfectly through Stargates?

As soon as I get paid I'm going to have to go see Avengers again - can't hold out until the DVD comes out Smile

Mmm can't wait to see it, I'd quite happily make a ferret sandwich out of Thor and Ironman.

Really enjoyed this :) Some good funny moments - especially Hulk with Loki - snigger.

And "Mewling quim" made me smile while flying right over the dc heads!!

But did anyone else notice the similarity with the Doctor Who series finale from a few years back? (Sound of Drums etc, with the Master).

Batty god-like alien makes a fiendish pact with evil creatures from across the universe, creating a rip in time/space so that evil creatures come pouring through and battle ensues? With a main battle point being a huge flying aircraft carrier????????

HarrietJ0nes · 08/05/2012 15:52

Joss Whedon has quoted Dr Who in something before. Might have been Buffy.

Thanks for this, DS who is 7.5 wants to see it and I said I wasn't sure it was suitable for him. He isn't particularly sensitive about TV/films (although a right soppy sausage in other situations!) so I'm sure he'll be fine (and I thought I was in for a boring couple of hours watching a kids film but now I'm quite looking forward to seeing Captain America's arse it, thanks!

DilysPrice · 08/05/2012 16:42

I want to take DD, but am dithering about whether to take DS as well.....hmm.

CheerfulYank · 08/05/2012 17:20

Yes, Thor is gorgeous. I remember in the Thor film when he fell to earth and one of the women said, "Whoa, do you think he needs CPR...because I totally know CPR!" :o

Agree Crystal, the voice is a big part of it.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 08/05/2012 17:50

Thor's just a big blond puppy. I get the urge to ruffle his hair and tickle him under the chin. It really is Loki that pushes my buttons I'm afraid, I'm such a sucker for the emotionally damaged, vaguely evil megalomaniacs with daddy issues. He has a nice voice too although will destroy any vaguely feminist credentials I might have (do I really need to point out that fantasy =/= real life - MN's making me twitchy lately!)

CheerfulYank · 09/05/2012 04:41

Oh, I've got an urge to ruffle his hair all right. :o

LetUsPrey · 09/05/2012 18:48

Watched Thor last night. Very enjoyable film. Yes, very enjoyable. Grin

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 09/05/2012 19:25

Oh god, I watched Thor again last night too. I haven't got it on DVD yet and actually to my everlasting shame ended up watching it via Sky Go on my iPhone Blush Dh though I was hilarious (luckily he's very tolerant of my obsessions)

LetUsPrey · 09/05/2012 19:57

Grin at watching Thor on your iPhone!

I suggested to DH that we should watch some of it last night. We ended up watching all of it. Can't think why...
