LinkedIn chat about men bringing their dd into women’s loos

As above. He says he doesn’t want to take her into men’s loos, what should he do? Cue lots of women saying it’s fine, come into our loos, we don’t mind at all.

I said he should find a family loo or unisex loo, or take her into the men’s. He doesn’t want to, says he wouldn’t be using the loo. I said that he’d still be there, and that many women need single sex spaces for religious or other reasons, plus it’s the law.

He’s just said it seems to be the consensus that he should use the women’s loos.

Why are some men so selfish?

What else can I say?

You think the solution is to bring the people responsible for the disgusting condition of men's toilets into the women's?

Stereotyping all men in that way is ridiculous.
And I am thinking bringing a father or caregiver in to care for a female in a female environment is the better solution.

It isn't a better solution for my mum.

You were the one who suggested the men's is so unhygienic a 4 year old girl shouldn't go in there with a her father. So who was stereotyping?

So why is it OK for small boys to be subjected to this lack of hygiene? Or do boy dads get a free pass into the ladies too?

I have told this many times under different user names. As a teenager my mum was assaulted in a bathroom by a man she should have been able to trust (physically assaulted not sexually). Roll on 50+ years and on a theatre trip to thank her for looking after my then small children for half term she was confronted by trans 'inclusive' toilet. The fear of being in a bathroom with a man even all those years later freaked her out so much she didn't use the loo. Instead she spent the next week with a raging bladder infection unable to leave the house and needing an emergency GP appointment.

Why don't her needs matter? Why is it more important to give men an in to the women's than it is to keep women safe?

It has never been commonly accepted for men to take their daughters into the ladies. If the mens is unsuitable that is a man problem it's not for women to solve by sacrificing single sex spaces.

I don't consent to men using the ladies, neither does my now 80 year old mother, nor do my nieces and you can't consent on our behalf. The women's toilet are not for women and some men, they are for women. Good men stay out so bad men stand out. If we start telling men it's OK they can come in with their daughters, with their wives, with their female feelings the women that need single sex spaces have no where to go. You can't decide that because it's Okay by you that the ladies is now a bloody free for all.

My uncle is 87, he couldn't hurt a fly so is it OK for him to come in? Who is the arbiter of which men are OK to frequent the ladies?

Im sorry your mother went through that.

I don't think small boys with their fathers, or your 87 year old uncle should be in a female toilet. I dont think trans women should be in a female toilet.
The female toilet is for the needs of women, only if they need assistance should exceptions be made.
I do think your mothers needs, and every other woman's needs matter.
They have a voice, and if they object to a male carer in the toilet when they want to use it, they can wait, ask him to leave, or complain.
I am sure the majority of men who have used the female toilet to look after someone would not want to cause distress to others.

In all my life, I think I have only been in a public toilet twice when a man has come in with a small child. Both shouted before entry, other users, including me, had no objections.. To me it's just the same as a unisex loo...which obviously has floor to ceiling cubicles.

You were stereotyping, you told us men's toilets are unhygienic. I quoted you and now you're acting as if I'm the one who said it!

Who leaves the men's toilets unhygienic? The men using them! You want us to believe that it's only the men who aren't fathers or caregivers? Bollocks. You're happy for them to come and piss and shit all over women's facilities just because they have a woman or girl in tow?

But you are the one who said men’s toilets were disgusting. Therefore letting men into ladies toilets is bringing the people making the men’s toilets disgusting in. By your logic, mums should take little boys into the men’s. Why are the men’s toilets too disgusting for little girls, but not too disgusting for little boys? Why do you think men are peeling openly? You seem a bit confused as to men’s toilets.

But why can’t the man give a heads up shout before taking his daughter into the men’s? That would be just the same as a unisex loo no?

A father is out for the day with his small daughter. She is much too young to be left even for a moment. The dad needs to wee. There isn't an accessible toilet apparently.

Does he A expose his daughter to the men's with all it lack of hygiene or B use the men's with her in tow?

Sorry I have given the same option as A and B
A take the girl into the men's while he uses it.
B use the ladies himself

If A why is Okay for the girl to be in the men's in this circumstance when she doesnt need a wee but unacceptable when she does.

It's just another way to try and justify men being in female only spaces where they do not belong whilst using DARVO to tell women they're being unreasonable for not wanting him in there. Same old.

Random men will never be able to use a woman's toilet just because he thinks he has a good reason.
That's silly.

That's literally what this thread is about - men coming up with 'good reasons' why they should use the ladies, whether it's because they have a daughter with them or because they declare they are women. To all the women using the toilets at the time he chooses to enter, he is a random man. So my statement is 100% correct and not silly at all. Every exception to the rule that the ladies is for women means that the ladies is no longer a single sex space. And if we accept the batshit reasons that are currently the zeitgeist of the times it paves the way for future batshit reasons. It's a bit like that joke. "Would you sleep with me for ten million pounds?" "Yes". "Great, we have established the principle, now let's negotiate the price". "Are men allowed in the ladies if they think they are women" "oh yes of course" "Great, we have established the principle that men are allowed in the ladies in certain circumstances, now let's negotiate the list of circumstances ".

What else can I say?

You don’t have to say anything, why have an argument with a stranger on LinkedIn of all places, it’s a professional network, heavy on DEI and disingenuous virtual signalling.
LinkedIn is not the place for this discussion.

I agree
There are MANY MANY things I could say on LI but its a place for Business as far as I am concerned so I keep quiet about anything even vaguely contraversial
