Surrogacy - man plans to abuse the baby he is buying

Two gay men are the ‘commissioning parents’, also know as the baby buyers.
One man has been arrested for distributing child porn.
The other is a church pastor.

According to the article, the pedophile wrote, ‘I do love the idea of inviting a buddy over when I have my boy … just has to be someone I can trust obviously … I plan on getting my c* in him asap…’.

Horrifyingly, his parents-in-law, the parents of the church pastor, wrote glowing character references for him. ‘There should be more men like him in the world’.

And the kicker…the baby is being born in California where laws state the baby is the child of those two men unless they voluntarily relinquish parental responsibility.

This is disgusting, I am against surrogacy anyway, but what will Happen to that poor baby now??

By the sounds of it in the second article the baby will still go to his partner as planned

Thank goodness they found out before the child was born. The partner says he had no idea about any of it but surely the courts can't take the risk. There's no way he should be getting custody of that baby. If the mother doesn't want to keep him I'm sure there would be loads of couples happy to adopt him

God when you think of the life that little boy might have had. It doesn't bear thinking about. The police & FBI agents who have to engage with these criminals and see & hear the things they've done deserve a medal. That must be absolutely harrowing to do.

Absolutely sickening but hardly surprising when men are given the facility to buy babies - some of them will be paedophiles for definite.

And yet the partner’s parents provided glowing character references. That suggests to me that the partner and the partner’s parents are on the same page. I can’t imagine doing that for my child’s ex.

I really hope the courts don’t take the risk but I don’t really have much faith in them.

My heart aches for people who long for a family and can't have one themselves, but surrogacy is too open to abuse. The safety of the babies has to come first.

I dread to think how many infants have ended up in "inappropriate"* homes.

Yes this has always been my worry about surrogacy. Especially now since the bar has moved from being an infertile couple who desperately want a baby, to anyone can because it is their god given right. This is so unbelievabey sick.

It doesn’t sound like his husband had any idea about it though. He has left and is living with his parents. I wonder which is the biological father.

I find surrogacy really uncomfortable, this takes it to another level. A colleague shared a pic of her surrogate child, I couldn’t muster much enthusiasm.

What do people think about surrogacy re single-sex couples?
For lesbian couples who want a child there is of course the option of a donor so one/both can carry a.child, but for homosexual couples there obviously isn't that option?

Surrogacy is immoral, babies aren't commodities and shouldn't be purchased and removed from their mothers at birth. It's hideous. Gay men can parent if they want to, by adoption or by making an arrangement with a woman to father a child and co parent. They don't have the right to buy babies just because they want them.

I won’t link but Mark Newton / Peter Truong. And an unnamed Australia man who abused his twin surrogate daughters from one-month of age. He got 15 yrs.

There is so much wrong with surrogacy it’s not at all surprising that it’s come to this. No one is owed a child to the degree that a system with this capacity for abuse is enabled.
