Absolutely shocked and sickened by this. Ive always liked Brooke Shields and am appalled she has been through all this.

Must be hard as an adult to get to grips with, I suppose as a kid you just go along with your parents, you trust them, it's your normal. 😢

I'm old enough to remember Mandy Smith too, I'll have been a teenager around the same time and even back then could see how wrong it all was.

I don't believe that everyone back then just thought it was okay. I'm almost the same age as Brooke Shields and remember my mother having watched Blue Lagoon on TV (so much of the sex scenes were cut out) said she felt sick afterwards and no, she'd never let her daughters act in something like that as Shields was just a girl. There were a lot of mothers back then who thought Brooke's mother was exploiting her. Same with other young teen actresses like Jodi Foster in Taxi Driver and particularly Mariel and Margaux Hemingway in Lipstick.
