Did you get that seed from under your keyboard?

Do you know something, today and yesterday are the only days here (Scotland) it hasn't rained in about a month! Do you know anything about flowers/plants?

Report
ABitWrong · 11/09/2009 01:09

No,I think the seed is still there. But maybe it is a bit squashed now.

I have a couple of friends in Edinburgh. Oneof them was telling meabout the rain.

I know a bit but not a lot,you might get lucky...

I have Gladiolis and they've flowered. I cut them for in the house but now the leaves are leftover so I don't know whether to dig them out or cut the leaves back or just leave them alone?

Oh Edinburgh, love it there, have you ever been? I'm south of Glasgow, quite near the coast, it's nice......but wet

Was worth a try, am not very green fingered

If you get the chance, you should take a wee trip up to Edinburgh, it's a really lovely city, loads of stuff to do, nice parks etc.

Yes,I wouldlike togo. Such a long way though.Kids would go insane in the car for that long and trains so flipping expensive.

I growveg mainly.

Much asI quite like rodents,I don't think I want a mouse in the bedroom any more. Especially cos it has started sounding like it might be more than one.

Haha, we get mice in the kitchen. Someone once said "there is never just one mouse" and they were right. Little blighters. We got one of those humane trap things as I'm too feeble to kill them. They are cute though.

So you grow veg? That's great. I grew potatoes this year, it's the first thing I've ever grown and they were nice too, was dead proud of myself. However, I tried tomatoes and broccoli but they died. What kinds of veggies have you grown?

Report
ABitWrong · 11/09/2009 01:39

Oh I couldn't kill them either [vegan]

I haven't done potatoes yet.
This year I only have pumpkins, squashes, corn and carrots. There wouldhavebeen peas, carrots, onions anndbeans but they all disappeared mysteriously...suspect rabbits

That is impressive. You must go through a lot of veggies being vegan, it must be really healthy to have that type of diet? I could live without meat but I'd really miss cheese.

I am laughing thinking about the rabbits nibbling away at your veggies

ABitWrong · 11/09/2009 01:52

Yes,if I could re-learn basiceating I wouldbe fine. Sigh.

I am laughing slightly less about the rabbits cos I love homegrown peas.

A couple of neighbours have put up small electric fences to keep them away, so that's why we are getting them this yeatr.

You will relearn basic eating. One thing at a time right? Don't be hard on yourself.

Sorry for laughing at the rabbits. I just had a picture in my head of cute little rabbits sneakily munching your peas. I guess I'd not be best pleased if it were my peas though.

Is it the cider that's made you feel ill?

Report
ABitWrong · 11/09/2009 02:19

They ate the WHOLE PLANTS! Left no trace.

Ds1 wanted to adopt a rabbit with mixamatosis (sp?) recently

Yes the cider. And thefact that I drank it at speed on an empty stomach.

Can you have a big glass of water before you go to sleep? That will make your stomach feel better and you'll feel better in the morning too.

I'm gonna head off to bed now ABW. It's been nice chatting to you and I hope you can get a good sleep. Pop back in on the Shiney thread soon if you get a wee chance to say hi, I know some of the ladies over there were asking for you

Look after yourself and will catch up with you soon ok

Just checked back ABW - how are you feeling??

Bulimia sounds very tough. Do you mind if I ask how long you've been bulimic?

Impressed re the veg growing... def something I want to learn how to do but have 4 mo baby and am a bit lazy. Bit surprised your neighbours have electric fences.. isn't that a bit cruel?? (but then i am a meat eater, so a hypocritical statement...)
