Please and thank you.

You have your nose pierced don't you?

ABitWrong · 21/08/2009 22:45

Mine are 12, 10, 7 and 4.
4yo isactually the most independent.
Older two go through phases of being reasonably competent in the kitchen then regress so that they need their toast spread for them

Nose and eyebrow. Eyebrow healed eventually, so want another. But the nice woman who did my first has gone away

Cakes are lovely - I invested in a piping bag earlier this year so I can do impressive cup cakes with twirly icing.... my coffee cup cakes are a sight to behold.
Unfortunately my banoffee pie looks like the dogs dinner (but tastes good if you shut your eyes).

ABitWrong · 21/08/2009 22:48

Oh, taste is more important than looks.

I don't do a bad novelty birthday cake though.

Very impressed with eyebrow piercing - I'm too squeamish. Always been a little jealous of my lovely sister - who has piercings and a tatoo or two, just cos she went ahead did what she wanted without dithering about.
At 39 I think I'm too old to start now.

ThePinkOne · 21/08/2009 22:49

I've got to go to sleep. Wish I could stay up and talk cake with you.

Keep breathing x

ABitWrong · 21/08/2009 22:50

Course you're not too old Pip. My best friend had her nipple pierced at 39...

What sort of novelty cakes?

Do they take lots of planning?

piprabbit · 21/08/2009 22:51

Sorry x-posting.

But nipple???? not sure about that.

ShowOfHands · 21/08/2009 22:51

MIL makes a pudding called chocolate dollop. It looks wrong and inedible. Close your eyes and you could kiss her for being a culinary genius. Well, let's not go that far, she's still my MIL. A manly punch on the arm maybe.

How you doing ABit? Shoulders relaxed still?

piprabbit · 21/08/2009 22:52

Must bid you all good night - thanks for the lovely chat.

DS due to wake soon...

ShowOfHands · 21/08/2009 22:53

First time I saw DH he'd just had his nipple pierced. He was 17, we were at college and he lifted his top up to show me. Blood. Everywhere.

Went very septic in the end, as did his ear piercings.

ABitWrong · 21/08/2009 22:55

Oh, I am not good at planning. Have done castles, badger, fox, bear, woods with bivouac and playmobil people, all sorts...it isfun...like playing.

No, I'm not sure I couldget my nippledone.

Night Pip x

Dollop sounds interesting.

Most things that spring forth from my MIL's brain are interesting tbh.

Do you have a ring or a stud in your nose?

ABitWrong · 21/08/2009 23:03

A stud these days. I tried a ring in recently but it was rather large and I couldn't undo it...I thought I was stuck with it!

A ring in my eyebrow though.

I dare you to get your nose pierced.

Eek!

Is your 4 year old due to start school this year?

Horror film getting worse btw. Pretty young things wandering round in their pants and screeching.

ABitWrong · 21/08/2009 23:09

Yesstarting school. Gulp.

How old is your lo?

Film soundsdreadful. I am a film wimp as well as being restless.

Oh gosh. How exciting. Uniform all bought? Shoes? Are they excited? I remember my first day of school vividly. My Mum read Burglar Bill to me before she left.

DD is 2.3 and knows everything about everything.

ABitWrong · 21/08/2009 23:19

Still bitsof uniform to buy. Shoes sorted though...some of ds2's old ones will do her nicely. Just as well as her feet are rather small so v few school shoes in her size.

She is v excited.

2 year olds are delightful. I disagree with the terrible twos thing. It is one of my favourite ages.

I remember Burglar Bill!

ShowOfHands · 21/08/2009 23:31

Oh I've no complaints about this age. Not come across the terrible twos thing here. Don't know if I'm lucky or if she's saving it up. Currently obsessed with babies, where they come from, how they get out. My SIL is pg and it's led to lots of questions. She comes out with all sorts in public places. "Mummy I will have a baby come out my 'gina when I am big as you". Yes dear. Recently potty trained too so can't go in a public loo without her cooing 'good girl mummy, do a nice big wee for me' in delighted tones before announcing as we leave the cubicle that 'mummy did a big wee'. Again, yes dear.

Oh they've put some clothes on again the pretty young things. Still haven't fathomed what the semi-nudity added.
