When I met DH I was 9stone 12.... the lightest I have EVER been as a healthy adult. I was a size 12 and felt fab. But that was only coz I was going to the gym 5 days a week to train for an army physical (didn't get in coz of asthma.... but sooooo happy that I didn't!). I'm thinking now that I'd have to do that again to be that thin again...... SOD THAT!

I'm a size 15 now... which as you may appreciate is a tad awkward!

tiny01 · 23/05/2005 22:20

hi there, I am on glass of wine no5. mother in law gone home. Dh away for the week (he works at Sainsburys, they are also shite), and I am 4ft 11 and 11 stone. Do I qualify to chat. I nearly typed gin instead of grin, what does that say about me. lol

BubblesDeVere · 23/05/2005 22:21

I am desperate to get weight off, especially after seeing myself on telly and in the papers, i knew i was big, but didn't realise I was that big.

BubblesDeVere · 23/05/2005 22:23

BDV - How often do you drink wine? I was drinking maybe 4 bottles a week..... probably more! It's SOOOOOOO calorific. I don't particularly like spirits but my size 12 pal had lost a stone by changing to gin..... thought it was an easy diet to try out.

I cannot diet.... hate it.... love food.... hate obsessing about it. I stopped eating chocolate every day too. When I was pg I had a bar of chocolate and a cup of coffee for breakfast..... the habit continued afterwards. Now I had an elevensies bar and coffee.... tehy taste like cakes!! Not that low in calories and fat, but lower than chocolate. I'm a great believer in "Every little helps"... if it wasn't bastard Tescos line!!!

BubblesDeVere · 23/05/2005 22:27

I can very very easily drink 2 bottles of wine a night, but only drink once or twice during the week. I love my chardonnay, but like my red wine more,.

Toothache · 23/05/2005 22:28

Natts - I mean I'm in between sizes at the moment. Find it really hard to fit anything.

I'm in Falkirk, Central Scotland.

Tiny01 - I've had the 'gin' 'grin' typo happen.... very funny! Gin

tiny01 · 23/05/2005 22:29

We drink a lot of wine, loveit loveit loveit. Didnt realise it was worse than gin, great cos I love gin to. I had my baby 7wk ago and thought I would lose loads of weigh but because I thought I could drink again I am going beserk. And there I was blaming the hormones.

BubblesDeVere · 23/05/2005 22:30

If I could give up drink I would be better, but, on the other hand I think i would be better if I gave up food

Toothache · 23/05/2005 22:32

BDV - You should try drinking spirits... jeeeust for a fortnight. See if it makes a difference. I mean the weight isn't falling off me or anything. I think I've lost about 1.5 pounds a week. I know that its slowed down now. Might have to put in more of an effort to lose anymore than 3.8 kilos (think thats about 9lb). Really don't have inspiration for anything else.

But my GOD if you can do 5km's... then you're much fitter than me! Well done again.

My Mum is about 14-15st at the moment (guessing as she won't tell me). She's 5'3". Just joined Scottish Slimmers and lost 5lb her first week then 3 the second!

natts · 23/05/2005 22:32

7 WEEKS ago Tiny01!!! Give yourself a break! At 7wks you're still carrying extra fluid etc.... Now I have no excuse, mine is 9mths!!

BubblesDeVere · 23/05/2005 22:34

If I stick ridgidly to Paul McKenna and WW combined, I can very easily lost 8lb in one week, but, on the other hand, I don't know which is worse, being 21st or being 11st and having 3st of excess over hanging skin.

Toothache · 23/05/2005 22:34

lol Natts - I wish!

... off for a refill...

toothache staggers downstairs

BubblesDeVere · 23/05/2005 22:34

well I have no excuse whatsover, my youngest is 37 months lol.

Toothache · 23/05/2005 22:38

BDV - Ah but my extra weight was accumulated during my 1st pregnancy..... ds will be 4 next month!

Hadn't thought about the excess skin. Have you lost lots of weight in the past? Is it inevitable that your skin will have lost it's elasticity (that word so much easier to type than say right now!)?

tiny01 · 23/05/2005 22:38

I know I know, I keep telling myself that but with summer coming and a reformed bulimic dh who is very aware of healthy eating I am giving myself a lot of stress. Well I am retaining a lot of fluid tonightGin

natts · 23/05/2005 22:40

i've only ever started depressing threads i am pmsl. not sure i should be. i am crap at diets and just the thought of them makes me rebel. wrong attitued i know.my kids are nearly six and two and a half so i have no excuse tell us about paul mc whatever his name is. my old boss was a qc and one a case against him for nicking stuff from someone else. sorry about spelling
