have you needed them at all within the last 6 months?
do you need one now?
if they are still in date then in theory yes as long as they were prescribed for you!

waterhorse if they are date and they are yours then take one with a glass of water and try to get to bed.and obviously as the others say get a gp appointment for a review.they will do you no harm and if you know you need one then you should take one.
sometimes things creep up on us and we are knocked back.its ok

waterhorse · 21/08/2008 23:44

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 22/08/2008 00:01

that's not a lot.

take one and see how it takes the edge off.

CvQuenched · 22/08/2008 00:02

5mg is nothing.it will just take the edge off the attack.make a gp appointment tomorrow though ok.

expatinscotland · 22/08/2008 00:03

i've taken diazepam that old that was still in date and prescribed for me for panic attack or insomnia.

no harm done.

DON'T if you've been drinking or using any other drugs, though.

waterhorse · 22/08/2008 00:04

CVquenched-I bumped a patients foot(mute) on doorframe whilst i was wheeling them through a door way (didnt mention to anyone because it wasnt much )and now i feel like i have murdered someone. They seemed quiet after and it must be my fault

I was prescribed Diazepam in 1994 (ish) and, like the OP I was having a really bad time with anxiety, about 18months later. I found them and took one (as you do) and woke up in hospital with a tube coming out my mouth.

Not good.

They were in one of those little brown bottles, not in a strip so that may have made a difference and I had lost a lot of weight so my physical make-up had changed.

am new to job too
