I’m really struggling with my MH at the moment so thought it might help myself and others to share what we are grateful for.

I’m grateful for :-

My physical health is good with no regular pain
I don’t have any financial worries and can pretty much buy what I want to make my life more comfortable (Helps that I don’t have expensive tastes!)
I have a safe, quiet and comfortable home
I am receiving caring and compassionate MH support from my therapist and psychiatrist
I have gorgeous pets who light up my life
I have plenty of time to spend on hobbies and to relax
I have cut abusive family and partner out of my life

Anyone else like to contribute?

Yesterday I was so grateful to see my counselor.

Lovely thread Smile
I'm grateful for:

  • 1/2an hour peace with a Cuppa and my Dog every Morning
  • my Beautiful Children
  • My reliable, generous Husband
  • My comfy, busy, happy House
  • Financial stability
  • My Job, it's laid back, flexible and rewarding
  • My little car and the adventures it takes my Family on.

Especially grateful for the Sun I can see peaking over the clouds this Morning, woke up feeling a little anxious and the Sun always makes me feel likes it's the start of a good day ☀️

Today I am grateful for the sunshine down by the river and that I managed to force myself out for a walk to enjoy it.
Also grateful to be seeing some improvement after bad side effects from my meds and to be seeing my psychiatrist today for support.

Good for you getting out for a walk in nature. Glad you saw your psychiatrist today and felt supported by them.

Today I'm grateful for our financial situation getting finally sorted.
I'm grateful for my anti-sickness meds.
Grateful that my kids are off school today and keeping me company.

Me too. Do you want to talk about it here?

Don’t feel so supported after all. He has given me a prescription with enough meds to kill myself.

Good grief. That wouldn't have been done on purpose but obviously a massive oversight on his part.

Today I’m grateful for the sunshine and for the fact I can walk around, albeit in some pain at the moment. Also grateful that my house is safe and comfortable.

I'm finding it hard to find things to be grateful for right now. I have my period, I have a cold and my throat is raw, I have my IBS playing it's usual nonsense and this is all before throwing my anxiety on top of it. I have Easter plans that I need to drag my body through for the sake of my children when all I want to do is lie in bed feeling sorry for myself curled up reading and have someone wait on me hand and foot and baby me. That's my honest truth.

That sounds really horrible @Nogodsnomasters, You are officially excused from feeling grateful for the moment. 😊
I hope you feel better soon and Easter isn’t too difficult to get through. xx

It is good to think about what you’re grateful for. Another thing that can really help is journaling, but not necessarily a gratitude journal, because it can get a bit repetitive. I keep a journal of “what went well for me today”. It means I finish each day with my mind full of positive thoughts, mental pats on the back, and a feeling of satisfaction. Very different from before, when I’d finish the day ruminating on what went badly, and on what problems tomorrow might bring 😩

Thanks @Pegs11 thats a really good suggestion. I bought a journal about six months ago but hadn’t got round to using it yet.

I’m struggling at the moment but still grateful that I can see and walk. Also grateful that I am not suffering with the COL crisis like some folk are.

Hi @Cyclealong I'm sorry you're struggling. Do you want to chat about it?
Those are great silver linings to find. I'm also struggling the last while.
This morning I'm grateful for the sun shining and that it's the weekend.
