Does anyone else find being off work with poor mental health excruciating?

Also what are you actually supposed to do whilst you're off apart from worry that work will think you're a fraud? I tried to take an overdose last weekend (30 years of depression) having tried to swap antidepressants too quickly. Gp and crisis team been crap. Signed off for 2 weeks but just sitting around worrying and feeling crap. Literally don't know what to do with myself. Tried walking, meditating bla bla but feel terrible. Please help.

Echo what everyone else has said. Some great advice.

I am glad you are still here too and gentle hugs to you from me.

I was once signed off with mental health illness from a job for the best part of six months. It was in a school and after pretending to care, it turned out they never and I ended up leaving. Not been able to work since then but onwards and upwards. My Drs are shit too but this thread is about you , not me.

Take care and keep talking to us. We’re listening.

Been on ad's 20 years. Been on venlafaxine 3 weeks and not going well. V aware of side effects just literally feels like torture each day.

I had a shit time with them as well.
Speak to your Doctor about changing meds

Thanks for responses. X @NowWhattt that's what started all this was changing meds. It's such a bloody long process as I never see the same GP and a couple of AD's really haven't suited me. It's a long torturous process tbh

Oh bless you . It’s awful and I have so much sympathy for you. The Drs are a joke. Mine used to be okay but they are terrible now. Good luck- keep talking to us .

I've not had time to rtwt but didn't want to read and run. I'm really sorry you are struggling. Definitely take a look at this GP who I stumbled across on Instagram. He answers your exact question and has loads of info on his page. Hope you feel better soon and I hope the link works xx

Yes. I went out to local shops today, and it felt like a huge achievement.
A few days ago I could barely get out of bed. I couldn't concentrate on any possible recommended distractions. Couldn't sleep much. It's been hell. Sheer hell. Started to see tiny chinks of light. Take care OP. You're not alone at all x
