day 4 on these tablets first day i havent woken with a headache! how is everyone else getting on, i do feel a bit calmer but that could just be because i am off work at the minute.
anyone else have loss of appetite, i dont mind as i am trying to shift a stone anyway.
have a good day everyone

bandgeek · 05/04/2008 11:09

Morning all, how is everyone?

Shopping was ok, I didn't feel as panicky and claustraphobic as I normally do in supermarkets, however that cuold be due to the fact it was really quiet.

Ibiza1 - Yes! I have really lost my appetite. I'm thinking that's not too bad a thing at the moment as well I think I tend to comfort eat though, so am hoping once the pills kick in and the side effects wear off, I'll still have my eating under control.

I'm feeling generally upbeat at the moment, but I do find I get more panicky as the day wears on. Night-times are generally my worst,I can't concentrate on anything and just sit and think about all the worst case scenarios that can possibly happen. Hopefully not for much longer though

sherby · 05/04/2008 11:58

Morning all

Finally last night was ok! Yes appetite has completly gone but I am forcing myself to eat as I am underweight already. I'm going to be doing some exposure therapy for one of my 'scary' thoughts today as it has really been getting to me recently. Will let you all know how I get on.

bandgeek, well done on the shopping, night times are my worst time of day too.

bandgeek · 05/04/2008 12:53

Good luck with your therapy

ibiza1 · 05/04/2008 17:02

whateverhappened · 05/04/2008 20:27

sherby · 06/04/2008 09:26

God awful night again, starting to feel really desperate for something to work here . Have started a seperate thread about that!

Think I will go to the GP tomorrow and talk about switching meds

toosoontotell · 06/04/2008 17:14

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone took fluoxetine during pregnancy? I've just got a BFP (faint, but I'm panicking already!) and I'm on a low dose. Obviously I don't want to do any damage but equally I don't want to just stop it either.

LittleCheese · 18/04/2008 12:49

Is anyone still on here? I have been prescribed these today, starting on 20mg. Have also been refered for counciling but there is aparantly a long waiting list so god knows when that will come through. Im a bit scared about taking them but also having a rather good day just thinking that ive taken the first step to being myself again. Im sick of being miserable and im sure my mood is causing problems with dh

ditavonteesed · 18/04/2008 16:20

Hi, can I join too, I started these on Weds, am feeling like absolute crap right now but hoping it will wear off soon.
LC I too feel a bit better knowing that i have done something positive although i feel really weird today with side effects, i need to go to bed for the whole weekend i think.

LittleCheese · 18/04/2008 16:31

o dear dita, I hope you feel better soon, im really worried, My gp told me not to drink whilst on them so going to try and have a relaxing drink with dh and some friends tonight then give them a go from tomorrow i think. Im hoping that having the weekend then dd at nursery for 2 days might make starting them easier than taking them on a day which will just be me and dd all day. Did you feel terrible from day 1?

ditavonteesed · 18/04/2008 16:38

I think I am coming down with a cold as well so not sure what is what IYKWIM. I have no appetite but that is not a bad thing for me. i have been sick but only when i am running around so will slow down for a few days, that sounds like a good plan, I got the dry mouth thing instantly but the redt have come on over 2 days, by all accounts they go fairly quickly.

LittleCheese · 18/04/2008 17:05

Yeah fingers crossed. Im too too bothered about the loss of appetite as i over eat any way but not looking forward to feeling sick. Do you mind me asking if you are suffering with pnd or just general depression?

ditavonteesed · 18/04/2008 17:16

I think just general, dd2 is 2 now, I did have pnd after her and i don't think I ever got quite back on track.
I have just tried to cram too much into this year and you reach a point where something has to give don't you.
How about you?

LittleCheese · 18/04/2008 17:28

dd is 1 so dont think it is pnd, doc seems to think its a mixture of having dd getting married and moving house all in the last 15 months and only being 21. Not sure im convinced i think its more down to money worries and body issues, however im not too fussed what the cause is as long as i start to feel better

ditavonteesed · 18/04/2008 17:43

yeh I think when you do too much things just get harder, I had an operation and moved house already this year.
Body issues and money worries will never help things, are you having some councelling as well?
And I wish I was 21 if that makes you feel any better.

LittleCheese · 18/04/2008 17:48

yeah gp has refered me for counciling but been told there is a long waiting list. I think the hardest thing to contend with is that being settled being married and having a baby is all i have ever wanted and i love my family and when im happy i cant imagine being happier, so when im not happy i dont really understand as i dont feel i have reason to be. with regards to being 21 i think its difficult as all my friends have totally different lives to mine.

ditavonteesed · 18/04/2008 17:52

I can understand that, I am in my 30's and am still the first of my friends to have children. i too have everything I have ever wanted and swing from on top of the world to can't be arsed to get out of bed.
have you tried going to playgroups or library groups where you could meet some people who are in the same situation as you?
And I think you must be doind a great job I know at 21 I didn't have the maturity to look after myself never mind a family.

kkkkatie · 18/04/2008 19:56

Hi all,

I'm so releived to see that there is a thread on this AD. I have been wondering who I can ask about taking them for a while now.
I've just completed my 2nd week, had terrible nights sleep, kept waking in night for hours not being able to get back to sleep. Have lost too much weight which is not good as already slightly under weight, always hunry?? Does anyone know if its ok to drink when taking these? Looked at directions but it didn't mention anything?????

ditavonteesed · 18/04/2008 21:15

I don't think you are supposed to drink.
If you have been on them 2 weeks hopefully they should be starting to work soon.

alibubbles · 18/04/2008 21:59

I have a few glasses of wine most nights, doesn't seem to make any difference,

I'd like to know how much you need to take to lose weight!

LittleCheese · 19/04/2008 18:05

I hope it makes me loose weight, just taken my first one today feeling really aprehensive about side affects feel im just sat here waiting to feel horrible

whateverhappened · 19/04/2008 22:00

with drink, just take it easy - just have one glass teh first time you try it, and see how you feel. my doc reckons ou should see some effect by 4 weeks - 8 weeks. they are slow to work, but he said his experience is that they are v effective. I'm ok drinking but stay with just a small amount. lost lots of weight at first, but beginning to put a bit bck on - get an ibs thing going on if i'm stressed, and am now beginning to feel less stressed. i think i have pnd - ds is 2.5 - never let it be said that I don't resist a thought of having something I don't like! anyway, feeling much better now, which is great. just persist with it, keep giong for the few weeks, and hopefully you'll feel better v soon.

ditavonteesed · 20/04/2008 08:36

How is everyone doing today, I am feeling loads better, even got my appetite back.
Still got a stinking cold though, I even managed to get up and leave dh in bed this morning. Yah, I know they don't actually work that quickly but I think it must be psychosematic (sp?).
Anyway i am feeling grand and looking forward to the day.
Not lost any weight yet though, even though I didn't really eat for 3 days. never mind will have to get running again when I feel better.

LittleCheese · 20/04/2008 11:11

Hi i still feel fine only had 2nd one today and no side effects yet
