I hope no-one minds me starting a follow up thread. I know some people were waiting for me to update so I thought I would but happy to ask MNHQ to delete if one of the long term posters wanted to start it 😊

Can I join in? I've been lurking but too scared to join until now. I have always had mild health anxiety but it's gone through the roof over the last few weeks and today I'm really struggling.

I had a chest x-ray on Thursday (mild chest discomfort and needing to burp a lot but heart checked out and all fine) and I'm terrified it's going to show lung cancer. I started with a very minor tickle cough about three weeks ago which is why my mind has gone into over drive. I didn't have a proper cold to explain the cough (minor sore throat and headache but that's it).

Covid test was negative and I can't believe I'm praying it was a false negative as it would explain the cough.

Has anyone had chest worries? Anyone with happy outcomes that can help me pass the long wait until I get my results? Thank you!

(Normally I would do a quick Google to reassure myself but this time I'm just too scared Sad)

@AJ297 I made a mole bleed on my left breast a couple of weeks ago it’s healed over now how it was before x

@TheSilentStars that really made me laugh my head is definitely lopsided 😂

@MarthasGinYard I get bad stomach pains and nervous stomach with anxiety x

MarthasGinYard · 14/03/2021 19:39

Hi Silent

The ultrasound showed a gallstone which I knew I had from a previous u s but literally these pains only started following the ultrasound. So odd.

I've convinced myself it's something sinister. I need to snap out of this.

MarthasGinYard · 14/03/2021 19:42

Tmh88

I know, I feel hyper sensitive to every twinge at the moment.

MarthasGinYard · 14/03/2021 19:45

Also, sorry to hear you having a bad day today. Glad the jaw thing has eased. That's a classic Anxiety thing and awful how we tense subconsciously as we sleep.

It certainly does all feel like a 'viscous circle' that's very true.

If it's any consolation my digestive issues began on the 28/9. I can even pinpoint the day. It was the day I was in the house on my own for the first time in months and boom! Digestive issues and a spiral of HA. I went to the GP mid Oct and she referred for abdo ultrasound. I was surprised (as I kind of felt it was in my head) but happy (iyswim) about the gallbladder.

Your symptoms do sound very gallbladdery. Are you drinking apple cider vinegar? It's helping me no end. Bleargh.

Just had a poke around my "sisters" Grin as I put my pyjamas on and realised I totally neglect my left one. I will poke my right one for hours, then just give the left a cursory tweak. Weirdo.

StepOutOfLine · 14/03/2021 20:39

Oops. That's my other username for non pokey threads Grin Never mind. I trust you all on here not to out me. Wine

Goolies · 14/03/2021 21:41

@tmh88 sorry to hear your struggling, you’re not alone though, I’ve also had a really tough day, what should have been a lovely Mother’s Day turned into a tearful day of spiralling!! I went from being worried about indentation on one area of my breast to another area to looking at the stretch marks and wondering are they intact all indents?! Totally drove myself to a dark place.

Hope you’re feeling a bit better now and tomorrow is a fresh start for us! X

tmh88 · 14/03/2021 22:01

@Goolies it’s awful isn’t it! When I was feeling earlier I just got this rush of panic like I’ve never felt before it was like a butterfly sickness feeling! I’ve got a lot worse since my mum died in December x

StooriMelon · 14/03/2021 23:53

It was my consultant at the clinic last week who said to think of our boobs as 'sisters, not twins' and it's honestly the best medical advice I think I've ever had!

@tmh88 sending love xx Don't pack the therapy in when you're feeling this way. Have a wee sleep and see how you feel tomorrow. If you feel you need meds there is no shame in that. I'm sure your GP will understand. Mine told me she sees loads of people for HA and that all of what we feel is totally normal, especially in a pandemic. You've alot going on today so be kind to yourself. I also get the rush of fear and sometimes like a sheet of ice. It's horrible.

@goolies My breasts have creases and when I lift my arm up they appear. They're mostly on the side where my armpit ends and boob begins. I was convinced it was orange peel skin but it's just stretch marks (thanks, kids). I also have a bit on the bottom of my least favourite boob that looks flat. I just had it checked last week - mammo and ultrasound - and all is fine. Definitely make an appointment to ease your mind but they are changeable buggers and can look weird and wonderful with nothing sinister going on.

@polkadotpixie well done on starting the sertraline. Hope it really helps. If you feel ok to, can you keep us updated on how you get on xx

@TheSilentStars I chose melon cause of the midori reference but maybe it should have been melonS! 😂 Thanks for the advice re DH. That does sound familiar with the prostatitis so fingers crossed. He says he's not worried that it's anything serious but of course my HA brain doesn't go by his rules! 😆 I'm exactly the same re boob negkect. Like children, my well behaved left boob gets ignored but the annoying right one gets all my attention 😂

@MarthasGinYard Thanks. Amd sending you good vibes. HA is a bastard that can cause so many physically symptoms too so it's likely making things seem worse. I totally understand that fear feeling. Speak to your Doc and see what they say but if you need the reassurance of the CT then do it xxx

MrsWhites · 15/03/2021 07:31

Morning all,

@polkadotpixie and @AJ297 thank you both. It was mucousy as you both described so I’m hoping it was just the last little bits of my period being forced out.

@TheSilentStars lovely to hear from you. Going back to school is a really stressful time isn’t it. My eldest is struggling with it a bit too 😢

@tmh88 I hope you managed to get a better sleep and feel a little better this morning.

tmh88 · 15/03/2021 08:10

Thank you everyone! Really going to crack on with having a positive day today after my major weekend wobble, I’m feeling much better! Sorry for burdening you all too! Going to go for a walk and nip to shops etc! Hope everyone has a good day! Glad Mother’s Day is over 😂

tmh88 · 15/03/2021 08:14

@StooriMelon your right I need to keep the therapy! I just had a really what is the point weekend! I’m feeling so much better for a full nights sleep! It does make your anxiety worse when your tired but when your in it you can’t rationalise it’s just the anxiety and not your actual health can you x

Hoping everyone has a good day! Sounds silly but the sun being out makes a massive difference to my anxiety, makes me more positive x

Skyliner001 · 15/03/2021 08:33

Morning ladies, I had a bit of a wobble over the weekend as well, despite it being an no Check weekend! It sounds like everybody had a fairly wobbly weekend! Doing okay this morning!

Does anyone else often feel vaguely dizzy? I'm getting the slot at the moment, and can't work out if it's hormones, or anxiety, obviously I always worry about something more serious!

Goolies · 15/03/2021 08:39

Sounds like it was a tough weekend for many of us! @tmh88 I was thinking the same as you yesterday that therapy clearly isn’t working and I should scrap it but nope, if anything it highlights how much I still need it! Started my period today so feeling a bit lighter and trying to think with a sensible head.

@Skyliner001 yep I can feel dizzy, it’s almost like I’m on a boat and then it goes. No idea if it’s an anxiety thing but I assume so.

StooriMelon · 15/03/2021 08:57

@tmh88 glad to hear you're feeling better. Tiredness is the number one factor in my anxiety and I also feel better when the sun is shining so I totally understand!

@Skyliner001 I get dizzy alot! I thibk it's the anxiety x

tmh88 · 15/03/2021 10:10

@Skyliner001 I quite frequently feel dizzy! I’m fairly certain it’s an anxiety thing! x

@Goolies yes it’s exactly that! I always get a relief after I come on my period as my anxiety eases massively then! The build up is awful x

@StooriMelon thank you! Yes I’m going to make an effort now to go to bed early each night! x

cripez · 15/03/2021 10:56

Joining today, two hours before I'm due for an abdominal ultrasound. Hiding in bed because I'm petrified.

Had one 14 months ago that shows gallstones. Had gallbladder out. Still get pain.

I didn't want to let go of DS's hand at school drop off today, drove home in tears.

I need to go and get this ultrasound and
a) stop avoiding medical type stuff cos of anxiety
b) break the cycle of this health anxiety and stop mentally composing goodbye letters to all my loved ones

But it's so hard. I just want to hide.

Skyliner001 · 15/03/2021 11:25

@cripez Offering a virtual handhold from us all here, we all support each other! Will you keep us updated, I'm sure your scan will be fine, but they are so terrifying! I do sympathise, nearly fainted getting my breast ultrasound. Thinking of you, and will be around if you need to chat X

Skyliner001 · 15/03/2021 11:26

Thanks everyone who fed back about the dizziness, I think it's been since taking sertraline, which I remember since the last time I had it to.

cripez · 15/03/2021 11:31

Thanks so much, I'm aware I'm a noob here so when I get my head out of my own arse later I'll have a look at all your journeys and hopefully be a bit more communicative and sympathetic.

I mean, if I get through this scan today I am going to crack out some Prosecco tbh.

Skyliner001 · 15/03/2021 11:33

Don't worry about it at all! Hope you are getting to have that glass of Prosecco later, please keep us updated as to how it goes. There are quite a few people here who suffer with gallbladder 😬

MrsWhites · 15/03/2021 12:08

@cripez welcome to the group, good luck for your scan! Anything medical is a worry for us all on here so we understand.

I’m worrying already about a bloody eye test on Wednesday!

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 15/03/2021 12:34

Hello! Had the weekend off mn and mentally preparing myself for baby's second lot of jabs tomorrow!

Hello to newbies!

@tmh88 my anxiety is definitely related to my cycle. I'd say it peaks about a week before usually and I get a very black mood a few days before too that will often last all the way through my period. Sometimes it's not so bad before my period and then I get the black mood immediately following the end of the period instead.

@MrsWhites the discharge is highly likely to be ovulation or just random.

polkadotpixie · 15/03/2021 13:15

@Skyliner001 I've started getting dizziness too since I started Sertraline so it's probably that
