Oh, well thank you everyone! maybe I’m not so crazy after all! Let us know how you get on @chorusline79 I’m sure you will be fine though Flowers

Squeekybummum · 18/02/2021 15:37

chorus79 good luck at your appointment. Hope all goes well.

chorusline79 · 18/02/2021 17:03

Thankyou so much to you all for the encouragement!
Dr was so lovely. She felt my neck and said she wasn't at all concerned - she said it felt rubbery and wasn't tethered to anything. Plus quite small. I told her I was anxious and she was very reassuring and says although not worried she's booked me in for blood tests next week as she said I need to have my kidney function checked as I have stones. So she says they will check bloods, cholesterol etc as I'm 40 next week so it will be a health MOT type thing.
We also got onto discussing family history of breast cancer and as mother and paternal grandmother and her sister all had breast cancer she says I may get early mammograms and gene testing.
So it was very productive visit and I am feeling like I might sleep better tonight!

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 18/02/2021 18:12

Lovely @chorusline79 - don't let the bloods get you in a worry!

Skyliner001 · 18/02/2021 19:16

This is wonderful @chorusline79 You were very brave to go, hope you sleep better.

chorusline79 · 18/02/2021 21:16

Thanks @onlyreadingneverposting8 and @Skyliner001

Hope this is reassuring, as she said neck lumps very common and v rarely a problem.

I am so tired and feel relief - I just hope it lasts a while and can keep on an even keel for a while.

Hope everyone else doing ok and had decent days.

dillydallydollydaydream7 · 18/02/2021 23:52

Ah well done @chorusline79 on having the courage to go! Fab that you're going to be getting a health MOT. I hope you sleep well tonight because of this and have found some reassurance

Skyliner001 · 19/02/2021 07:38

Morning ladies, after a terrible few days, I'm heading into a no poke, no Google, no obsession weekend.I am determined.

Hope you are all doing well, I slept dreadfully last night, not with anxiety, but just with random insomnia. Off today so going to do a house blitz and listen to my audiobook 😊

dillydallydollydaydream7 · 19/02/2021 07:45

Good luck @Skyliner001 ! Stay off the daily Mail app if you have it - I've already made that mistake this morning

tmh88 · 19/02/2021 08:57

@chorusline79 brilliant news! Flowers

You can do it @Skyliner001 Flowers

chorusline79 · 19/02/2021 09:05

Thankyou so much- you are all so supportive, I'd be a bit lost without you all!

@Skyliner001 sorry to hear this, the insomnia sucks. You can do it and keeping busy is the best tactic! Let us know how you get on.

Hope everyone has a good Friday and weekend.

Skyliner001 · 19/02/2021 09:12

Thanks, will do!

Skyliner001 · 19/02/2021 09:29

Thanks for the heads up on the trigger on the Daily Mail homepage as well 💚

Skyliner001 · 19/02/2021 10:09

Does anybody else find it incredibly difficult to accept that they have an anxiety problem, rather than something necessarily wrong with them...

...by saying this I'm not saying any of us can predict the future medically, but I was thinking about the things I worry about, and how the biggest challenge for me is accepting that it is a problem in my brain.

I wish I could overcome that. I feel a bit like when you have health anxiety you are convinced that you don't. I'm not explaining this very well, but basically I just wish I could accept the fact that I have an anxiety problem.

MrsWhites · 19/02/2021 10:44

Morning everyone.

I was just about to warn others to not go on dailymail home page this morning, I’ve already made that mistake!

Well done @chorusline79 for going to the GP, sounds like a reassuring visit.

Sorry I can’t remember who posted what so I’ll just share my similar symptoms:

I get more pains in one breast that the other, freaks me out too but it happens every month so I’m assuming it’s just a hormone thing.

I get little spots on my breasts too, usually starts as an itchy or just red patch but then turns into a little spot or blocked pore.

Weekend ahead so hoping I can stay positive and not get into my usual weekend cycle of poking!

Very welcome - it drives me mad because I read the title and think 'right, I shouldn't read that' but I read it anyway 🙈

@Skyliner001 yes exactly the same! Sometimes I'll 'feel' something or worry and think right whatever I have health anxiety and I'm fine, it's just my anxiety and crack on. Other times it's like a battle in my head - I'll think I have pains etc and think the worst, even though my heads telling me I'm fine and it's my anxiety it's like I can't accept it

MrsWhites · 19/02/2021 15:16

@dillydallydollydaydream7 I definitely understand that. The more you think about a ‘symptom’ the more it grows in your head, like it hurts more or you think it’s grown or got itchier when really it’s probably all in our head.

I got out for a walk today and felt absolutely fine whilst I was out, as soon as I’ve come back in my worries and therefore symptoms have returned!

Ah @MrsWhites Sorry to hear that! In general I feel better when I am getting on!

bumhug · 19/02/2021 17:34

Hello! Can I join please?

I've been a HA nut job for about 3 years on and off. It's recently kicked off again since being at home during this latest lockdown as I'm not allowed to work (industry closed) and I'm stewing in my own juices at home with a 4 and 5yr old.

The big C is my disease of choice like many of you it would seem. And I can I happily go from an achey finger to a brain tumour in under 10 seconds.

My current ailment is sinus pressure that makes me feel a bit wonky/dizzy which = obviously a brain tumour. It seems dizziness is quite a common one amongst HA sufferers. Bloody horrible isn't it.

I also get what I call shooty arse during ovulation which feels like a red hot poker up my bum. Lovely. I did go to the GP about that and she had a rummage around and is sending me for a pelvic ultrasound to check for cysts etc. Weirdly I'm not too worried about that though. Although nearer the time I'm sure I will be.

Anyway, looking for some like minded people to try and beat this mutherfuxker of a time wasting mentalness.

Friday. Yay!

StooriMidori · 19/02/2021 17:49

Great news @chorusline79 It's good to find a reassuring GP.

@Skyliner001 I'll join you. I'm back to square one 😞

@bumhug Welcome, you sound like you'll fit right in here 🙂

StooriMidori · 19/02/2021 17:53

For my fellow boob worriers, do you ever feel like your problem boob is firmer than the other one? And do you ever feel like you are constantly aware of it? Of course I read somewhere once that this was someones only symptom of the C word so am freaking myself out and have been patting Grant and Phil all day to test their firmness 🙈 😞

Skyliner001 · 19/02/2021 17:55

Welcome @bumhug You are among friends here! 😊

Skyliner001 · 19/02/2021 17:57

@StooriMidori I haven't had that specific boob worry, but give me time...

I'm only three months into this patch of frantic boob worry, and I've worried about pretty much everything, so I'm sure I'll move onto that eventually.

I suppose in some ways I think of my left boob is my problem boob as that was where I had the giant breast cyst.

It's also the one that seems to have the most pain cyclically, having said that it is also the one that was scanned, so the right boob is in some ways more frightening.

The right boob is slightly smaller. But basically I sympathise with anything boob related...

I move between the two, breasts are definitely my biggest worry.

StooriMidori · 19/02/2021 18:06

@Skyliner001 Thanks. Now I'll be worrying that as you've not had this it must be a 'real' symptom until someone else comes to reassure me! 🤞🏻 It's so exhausting!

StooriMidori · 19/02/2021 18:25

Sorry, @Skyliner001 I didn't mean that to read like a sarcastic thanks! It was a genuine thanks! X
