I broke down this morning at work as things came to a head as I cant cope anymore. My Line manager at work was great, let me confide in her and helped arranged a Dr appt for me.
The Dr has told me that I have depression (longstanding), anxiety and anxiety related ibs
I need to take 25mg for a week then 50mg after, need to see him in 2 weeks from now seeing how things are going.

I'm really hoping that these tablets will help me get back to 'me' again.

I have seen this a bit late. I just thought I would add I take Imipramine 75mgs a day, started back on about a year ago, previously on them for about 2yrs then a long break. I couldnt tolerate prozac.
Sorry youre going through this low time.
They do make you sleepy,I have to make sure I take them by 9.30pm or I have problems getting up at 7. I still wake in the night though.
i hope you are adjusting to them ok, i find that ad's help normalise the everyday stuff, help one get through the day, but need talking therapy too. Have you got anynearer counselling?

Oh, drink loads of water, Imipramine dehydrates , which can also lead to poor concentration and feeling tired. It also makes me constipated! but with your IBS I dont suppose that will be a problem.

Hi Bug,

Glad i found your post as no-one replied to the one i left about this .

I'm on 150mg Imipramine a day after a long spell on Citalopram which didn't work.

I've not suffered many side effects yet; bit of a dry mouth, slight dizzyness if i move too quickly and a few more tears than usual (although this could be the 'wobble' due to me changing AD's).

I was told they'd knock me out at night - they haven't done yet (i wish they did so i could get a decent nights sleep!).

How are you getting on?

Clare x
