And now all I need is to psyche myself up and tell him that I have OCD as well as the depression. I'm panicking just thinking about it but I've at least made a start. I know I'm doing the right thing but as I said on yesterday's thread this is going to be really hard. Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me girls, I'm going to struggle with this.

Good for you Tracey.

tiptop · 24/09/2004 14:56

TraceyP - I saw part of your last thread, but I didn't post as I didn't think I had anything useful to contribute. You're doing the right thing. Good luck, I'll be thinking of you.

Fizog · 24/09/2004 14:57

Good luck Tracey - when is your appointment?

ghengis · 24/09/2004 14:59

Well done TraceyP. It's a big step but it is the right one. We are all rooting for you

TraceyP · 24/09/2004 15:54

Loads of deep breathing and fluffy bunny thoughts, I think! I'm scared I'll bottle out but I know I've got to do it.

that's great news - and you can expect to get lots of moral support here on monday and virtual fluffy bunnies to make sure you don't bottle it!

Kayleigh · 24/09/2004 18:57

TraceyP well done. Am so pleased you have taken the first step. I'm sure it won't be half as bad as you think it's going to be. Don't suppose there is any point whatsoever in telling you not to worry too much over the weekend ?!

You CAN do this. X

MUMINAMILLION · 24/09/2004 21:00

Absolutely fabulous new - you have no idea how pleased I am for you!!!! Stay in touch over the weekend. again!!

kizzie · 25/09/2004 16:20

Well done and Good Luck.
I think the charity 'No Panic' also has info on OCD (?). If you do a search on google you should be able to find them.

Thank you so much for all your support. I'm determined at the moment that I am going to get the extra help that I need. Apart from anything else, if I bottle out I'll be letting down all of those lovely MNers who have been so kind to me.

twogorgeousboys · 25/09/2004 18:46

Well done TraceyP, agree with joanneg, write down what you want to get across and take it with you.

KS, thanks for the link. I think the depression is my biggest problem really, although the OCD seems to feel worse to me the more depressed I am, and then the depression feels worse too, if that makes any sense. The depression is being treated, although obviously I'm still having some really bad days, but I do think the two are linked, and I should really have discussed both with the GP before. Somehow the OCD seems a much harder thing to admit to, I have never told a soul about it before I posted about it on MN. Even dh doesn't know, and that's part of the reason I've been reluctant to say anything to the GP - how do I tell dh that I've been hiding such a huge thing from him for 9 years?
