Pink gin and tequila! My head has stopped spinning now. Just catching up with the soaps now!

BippityBoppity87 · 25/12/2018 22:25

Oh gosh @DiaryofWimpyMum that's a dangerous mixture! Love a pink gin, and tequila! My two go to drinks if I'm on a very rare night out.

My DP got me a coin purse for Christmas, which says 'DO NOT LET THIS WOMAN BUY SHOTS' I thought it was a very sensible purchase 😂

How is everyone today? I've been doing a bit of well over due cleaning. Sometimes I wonder why I bother as it's pointless with a 2 year old around, but I hate sittting in a mess.

OP posts:
WhyDidIEatThat · 26/12/2018 13:54

I’m sitting (lying down really) in a mess with my middle child, watching American Gods - I remember us reading the book about ten years ago but feel like the tv series is much better.

Except struggling to concentrate on it because distracted by my morbid little hobby of looking up ancestral death certificates (only found out this year via dna testing who my dad is so lots of unanswered questions) - I’ve found a heartbreaking group of suicides, four women in their sixties (why? I can’t see anything obvious like debt or massive life changes like bereavement or illnesses) starting with my gt grandmother, an aunt and two first cousins and two men in their thirties (sons of two of the women). It’s a lot in just two generations isn’t it?

BippityBoppity87 · 26/12/2018 14:05

This is going to sound a bit 'woo' but I've been thinking the same thing! I got a DNA testing kit thing for Christmas as I really want to find out where my mum is from. She was a completely different skin tone to me.

I've also thought about the ashes into jewellery thing, but I know people have mixed feelings about it. I like the idea though.

It does sound like a lot. Like I mentioned up thread, there's a lot of mental illnesses in my family. Bipolar, depression, suicide, sectioning, ADHD, schizophrenia, to name a few. I didn't stand a chance! Physical illnesses not so much.

OP posts:
WhyDidIEatThat · 26/12/2018 15:10

2018 has been the year of dna testing, became utterly obsessed and not only did lots myself but bought multiple kits for almost everyone I know or am related to. It was exciting to find my dad, but I’m still working on my mum’s side - know who she is and who her mum was but not her dad. Plan for next year is to visit as many ancestral places as possible, probably starting with Scotland and Ireland since that’s 30-50% plus I live in England so within easy reach 😀

DiaryofWimpyMum · 26/12/2018 15:31

It's my uncles birthday today so both sides of my family meet up in a local hall and we have a buffet. This is the last year we're doing it as it's a lot of faffing around and my mum and dad have fallen out over sausage rolls. 😔Xmas Hmm

MamaDane · 26/12/2018 18:28

@Fission I'm drunk as hell right now so I hope to sleep well tonight, but I don't know.

You feeling any better today?

Yuuum, steaks sounds good. Xmas Grin

BippityBoppity87 · 26/12/2018 18:45

Oh no, how did that come about? @DiaryofWimpyMum 😂 I'm sure my DP and I have argued over silly stuff in the past.

I'm having a wee gin @MamaDane Can't have too many though as I have to be up at 4.30am tomorrow for work booo.

I think I'm going to treat myself to a Chinese tonight Smile

OP posts:
MamaDane · 26/12/2018 19:00

@Bippity oh work tomorrow? That's awful. Glad you're having a bit of gin though. But I remember you saying that you have a difficult time with alcohol. So perhaps it's good that it's only a wee bit? 😊

FissionChips · 26/12/2018 19:11

Having a good time MamaDane? Xmas Grin

I’m not much of a drinker, half a bottle of wine on a Friday night does me fine. Any more and it affects my bipolar symptoms.

I’ve had a migrain most of today, had to lay in the dark for a couple of hours.

Anyone get any nice Xmas gifts?

MamaDane · 26/12/2018 19:30

@Fission actually yes, I was visiting relatives I don't see that often so alcohol helped make the time pass by faster and helped me relax and enjoy myself. I've also had times when I was in my worst state where I drank a lot and often mixed alcohol with pills.
Sometimes I still miss it but I won't become that person again lol.

Did you take any pills for the pain? Sorry, migraines are the worst.

BippityBoppity87 · 26/12/2018 19:40

I know MamaDane if I drink too much it affects my symptoms too, like Fission said.

I got lots of lovely gifts. A pandora ring with my birth stone, which I LOVE, the coin purse I mentioned up thread, some perfume, a make up bag and some lounge wear and fluffy socks, oh and candles Xmas Grin

What did everyone else get?

OP posts:
FissionChips · 26/12/2018 21:20

I’m glad you had a very nice time Mama, not many of us seem to do at this time of year.
No drunken tales to tell? [santa]

Those sound like lovely gift Bip, I bet you’re happy!

I received a box of chocolates from a very elderly friend, I don’t like them but it’s the thought that counts.

FissionChips · 26/12/2018 21:24

Oh, and I realised too late that a migrain was coming on, I take sumatriptan for them and they must be taken before it happens.

BippityBoppity87 · 27/12/2018 05:00

Yeah I loved all of it. Oh no, migraines are awful. I used to get them quite a lot when I was at uni. Not so much now.

Plus I haven't received a text from my bank, like I do every week saying money needs taken from my account but I don't have the funds. I get paid every Friday. Not this time! I class that as a win Grin

OP posts:

Oh well, it's only £70 I say only, but it could be a lot worse!

OP posts:

I feel very anxious today.

Apparently 45% of people like me with schizo affective disorder also have an anxiety disorder.

I feel too panicky to go to work.

I phoned the crisis team but they were very unhelpful, the lady clearly hadn't even bothered to look up my diagnosis or medication.
