sertraline - night time or morning?

I started taking sertraline 6 days ago and im in hell, the side effects have been bad and yesterday i rung the doctors who said to try taking them at night so i sleep through the initial few hours so I havent had my tablet this morning and am waiting till tonight, in the meantime i keep going dizzy, sweating, hearts hammering and i cant seem to settle at all.

Has anyone found any difference in taking it at night?

Sounds an ideal summer,- rowing sounds good not something I have ever tried.

Thank you all for being kind to me I really needed it tonight, I've taken it a bit later than I wanted to at half nine but the delivery was late and then needed putting away. Guess I'll find out if it makes a difference. Hearing positive results after the initial settling in period is a good thing too!

Still awake so far but not feeling too bad so I can live with that

Have had a lot of trouble sleeping tonight and feeling generally jittery with palpitations but I'm hoping tomorrow will be an easier day, time will tell I guess.

I found I felt really tired but just couldn't drop off. Hang in there. Each day of feeling crap is a day closer to the side effects wearing off. The GP told me that the insomnia is actually a good sign that the drugs are working on your brain and should have a good antidepressant effect

Feel better today than the days I was taking it in the morning but I'm shattered from no sleep, the only thing that's stuck today is that I am still absolutely boiling hot. Hope you are right about it meaning it's working.

Glad you're feeling better today, hopefully sleep will come easier tonight. This stage is really just a case of moving forward one day at a time till the side effects ease, shit when you're in the middle of it but there is hope.

I've felt really good this afternoon hoping for a better night! Have a very small appetite right now not eating very much.

How's it going mario?

supermariossister · 17/06/2016 19:14

Hey not too bad, the stomach issues have settled down and I managed to sleep last night but I've been shattered today and yesterday and flaked out on the couch much or the day which I hope isn't going to be a regular thing as I've got loads to do and no motivation. Still boiling hot all the time though how is everyone doing?

Felt rough this afternoon but had a monster headache I think for unrelated reasons. I am still really hot all the time which is uncomfortable but tolerable.

I've got things to do today and feel sick/stomach is churning can't decide if it's side effect or the meetings I'm going to affecting me just hope I don't pass out or throw up!

Still early days. Hope everything goes ok today!

supermariossister · 22/06/2016 12:18

Just chaired my first board meeting, thought I might throw up but fortunately didn't so all is well!

Super - how are you doing? What day are you on Sertraline?

supermariossister · 25/06/2016 12:31

Hi how are you doing?

Day 17 today, feel so much better than the first week still hot a lot of the time but the restless side seems to be calming down now and I feel a lot more balanced. Stomach issues have settled down and I just generally feel more prepared to do things than I was before, I was worried about the effect on libido but because I'm feeling so much better in myself it seems to have had the opposite effect. The only thing I'm still noticing is i don't feel like eating big amounts. How about you how are you feeling?

AnxietySertraline · 25/06/2016 13:47

Super - I am on day 17 as well (of 50 mg Sertraline). I still have anxiety on/off. Yesterday pretty bad - today less but still not feeling stable/in balance...

AnxietySertraline · 25/06/2016 13:50

Sideeffects have gone down - but still have less of an apetite... Eventhough it has gotten better...
Vivid dreams... Night sweats... And really tired still... Maybe a bit constipated (sorry for tmi)...

AnxietySertraline · 25/06/2016 13:52

I am really happy that you feel better about yourself and more en balance. What dose are you on?

supermariossister · 25/06/2016 14:16

50 mg, Wednesday was pretty bad but had meetings I needed to go to that I was nervous about so probably would of been a bad day any, not noticed any dreaming at all but I do get really restless if I'm not asleep soon after taking it and end up getting back up. Sometimes feel like I just want to sleep but feel better once I've forced myself into moving my arse.

AnxietySertraline · 25/06/2016 22:05

Trying to force myself too but feel tired a lot... Hope it gets better Smile

Whattodo222 · 28/06/2016 00:10

I've been on 200mg for 3 months, I take them in the morning as I've got olanzapine to take too which I take at night as it makes me into a total zombie.
One or other is working though, no mood dips, anxiety or psychosis! I have night sweats, vivid dreams and feel slightly cut off from the real world but it's a fair trade off to how I was before

tigerdriverII · 28/06/2016 00:50

whattodoFlowers

I'm cutting down, now on 100 mg from 150. Have had minor ups and downs but it's working Smile

I'm really hoping that I can drop the dose over the next few months to something minimal.

AnxietySertraline · 28/06/2016 05:04

Tiger - why are you going down in dose? Sideeffects from 150 mg?

tigerdriverII · 28/06/2016 07:43

Anxiety - mainly because I'm feeling a lot better in myself, and the cut off feeling was getting to me.
