Well that was a waste of time.

Emailed the Samaritans, got the standard reply 'I am glad that you have found the courage to contact
Samaritans at this difficult time in your life' and 'have you considered your GP' (I had already said that i didn't want to go back) and 'Samaritans are here to offer emotional support. However, we
cannot give you advice, but we can offer a space to talk about
your feelings without judgment and in confidence. '

Why did i bother?!
I don't even know why i mailed except i needed to tell someone i was struggling.

well that is a stupendously shite reply

have you thought about ringing them?

would you like to talk here?

BucketOfSoldiers · 11/04/2011 19:52

Sorry. I'm cross at myself for emailing in the first place and then to get that wanky reply just topped off a really fucking shit time right now.

Sorry.

It seems no one will do what they they're for. What's the point of phoning the S if they don't offer a response - you can get your cat to listen to you in a non-judgemental way.

I went to see a consultant about my daughter's hearing. There were 3 choices open to me. When I asked what he would recommend, he said he could not give advice and it was up to me!?!

Utter madness.

Hope you get the support you need x

BucketOfSoldiers · 11/04/2011 23:16

I didn't ring, maybe that would have made a difference i dunno?

OP posts:
TrinityIsABunnyMunchingRhino · 12/04/2011 09:38

could you ring from somewhere else?

BucketOfSoldiers · 12/04/2011 11:34

No, i don't 'do' telephones well and i don't do talking well.
It's ok. Will be fine.

Just to update and then I won't keep going on about it.

I have emailed a couple of times since my OP and just found them completely and utterly unhelpful and uncaring. Basically they are just repeating back what I said. "You say that xyz and it makes you fell like jkl" and "
We will try and support you by listening to your thoughts and feelings at this time."

If anyone reading this is in urgent need then I would not email Samaritans. Their helpline may be amazing, I don't know but I won't be recommending the email service.

I also emailed the samaritans when I was struggling and after a couple i was told to think about it other the weekend and then maybe email them again.

Your GP would be the best place maybe? Or if you feel really low and feel you want to harm yourself, go to A & E.

BucketOfSoldiers · 13/04/2011 14:03

I don't feel i can back. Certainly not during half term with the DCs in tow. And i wouldn't ever harm myself enough to need A&E anyway.
Thanks for that FAB5 - was beginning to think it was just me.

OP posts:
BucketOfSoldiers · 13/04/2011 14:04

That first sentance should say that i don't feel i can go back to GP.

BoS I emailed them a few times before when I was really feeling on edge after stupidly coming off 40mg of Citlropam and they were awful. I can't use the phone either as I have a social phobia.

My Doctor told me that if I was on the edge of killing myself then I was to either a) make an emergency doctors appointment b) NHS walk in clinic or as a final resort as they are likely to section you A & E.

If you want to talk I'd be only too grateful to have someone else who's going through the same to talk to.

BucketOfSoldiers · 13/04/2011 14:18

I'm not going to kill myself. I may feel like it at times but i wouldn't go thru with it.

FAB5 · 13/04/2011 18:35
