I am on day two.

Inspired by the accountability thread I am.going to document my progress.

I am eating the same meals today and yesterday

Roasted vegetables and tuna for lunch with chilli oil. I find the spice fills me up.

Supper is an omelette with roasted vegetables

100 calories of fruit berries or apple each day

Lots of water.

Lots of black coffee in the morning

I am feeling a bit weak.today

Trousers feel looser.

Hi all - I'll join you if that's ok. I did Fast800 3 years ago, lost over a stone and was back to wedding day weight. I kept it off too....until Lockdown 3 which I basically spent comfort eating carbs, cheese and wine. And I've found that a really hard habit to break! So I'm back on it from Monday. I did love the food, and bizarrely found it quite energising too.

Backtoblack1 · 10/09/2021 19:06

@glomerulus

Just over 10lbs in 2 weeks - my 3-week weigh in is on Monday. Loss does tail off a bit after the first 2 weeks I think but I would be thrilled if I could lose a full stone within 4 weeks.
Omg that is amazing!!! Well done!!! I’m ordering book now! Xx
Backtoblack1 · 10/09/2021 19:07

Are people commenting on your weight loss? I would found that very motivating x

Babyroobs · 10/09/2021 20:52

@Alittlenonsensenowandthen

Day 4 and I'm struggling today. Feel sooo hungry and dizzy. Tell me it's worth it?!
Horrible isn't it. I am day 2 and walked the dog in my lunch break, didn't go a huge distance but came back feeling jaded, wobbly and sweating buckets.
glomerulus · 11/09/2021 07:05

@Babyroobs hopefully the worst will be over in a couple of days - once you're through this initial phase it will feel a whole lot better.

@Backtoblack1 thanks! Yes I've had a couple of comments, at least I know it's doing something noticeable!

@WildRunner welcome and good luck starting over. Can if you have any tips for maintaining? I'm finishing up on the Fast 800 at the end of week 4 and moving over to 5:2 and already starting to worry about undoing all my hard work!

@LittleSF hope you've had a good week.

Alittlenonsensenowandthen · 11/09/2021 10:00

Small victory....end of week 1 and I've lost 3lbs. First time in 5 years that I've lost anything dieting (I've lowered Cal's in the past but not this low and had carbs). So, feeling encouraged!

LittleSF · 11/09/2021 10:31

Hi all, hope you’re all doing well. Coming up to the end of week three, I’m 15lbs down in total and, according to the keto sticks I’m back to being a fat burning machine (they went very pale pink this week for some reason and now back to darker pink). Feeling great, really enjoying it. I have apples simmering in cinnamon on the hob right now for breakfast with Greek yogurt and toasted walnuts.

A small non-scales victory - I had this red spot on my face for the past ten years at least. I had it examined by doctors and they said it was just a pimple and all the creams in the world wouldn’t shift it. I just learned to cover it daily with make up. After three weeks on Fast 800 it has practically disappeared! I can’t believe it - really thought I was stuck with it for life. Just goes to show it was a sugar-loving pimple!

I’m about two pounds away from a healthy BMI which is fantastic, will do the transition plan then before starting on the new 5:2.

glomerulus · 11/09/2021 16:20

@Alittlenonsensenowandthen great news! Glad you're seeing some early results and hope you're feeling ok.

@LittleSF congratulations! Over a stone in 3 weeks is incredible! Good luck with the transition phase, have you got a particular strategy or are you just going to gradually bring in more non-fasting days?

Backtoblack1 · 12/09/2021 19:04

My journal arrived today and I’ve planned my meals for tomorrow. Feeling excited about giving it a go 😍

glomerulus · 13/09/2021 07:18

Good luck for today @Backtoblack1! Remember to have loads of water and some small snacks (e.g. cheese or nuts) if you're struggling. The first few days are hard going but it's worth it!

Speaking of which... end of week three and this morning I'm 14 lbs down! Absolutely thrilled to have a stone off and at this rate I should be back within a healthy bmi by next week. This will be my final week on the 800 before moving onto 5:2 next week.

Hope everyone is doing well and the day 4/5 blues are starting to recede.

Backtoblack1 · 13/09/2021 07:31

Wow! @glomerulus - what a fantastic weight loss! That has really inspired me this morning! Good luck for week four - bet you will sail through it xx hope that will be me in 4 weeks time x

Good luck this week ladies xx

INeedtobealone · 13/09/2021 07:37

Dh and I have been doing this for a week now. Both weighed in this morning. Dh has lost 3kg this week and I have lost 2.5kg.

Very pleased and not been as bad as I expected even though I struggled without the distraction of school run/work on Saturday.

We're aiming to do it for a month then reassess and maybe go onto the 5:2 but with 5 fast days Monday to Friday and the two moderate days being the weekend.

Chunkymonkey123 · 13/09/2021 17:03

Well done to everyone on the weight loss! Week 1 weigh in and I was 5 pounds down. I really struggled at the weekend as I was in the house a lot. I find the week days easier as I literally can’t eat! My plan is to do 2 weeks and then move to 5/2 or similar.

glomerulus · 13/09/2021 21:03

Brilliant week one results @Chunkymonkey123 and @INeedtobealone!

Hope day 1 went ok @Backtoblack1

Backtoblack1 · 13/09/2021 21:32

Thanks @glomerulus!

I’ve had approx 850 cals but I am really hungry now. Luckily I drop off to sleep early so I should be in the lane of nod soon lol. Hoping the scales will show a loss tomorrow to give me some motivation x

Hope everybody had a good day 😊

Chunkymonkey123 · 14/09/2021 19:31

Really hungry today, worse than I’ve been so far on this. I’ve eaten 1250 calories, all on the med plan but obviously over 800.
I’m back at work tomorrow so hopefully it will be easier again, if not I’ll have to swap to 5:2 earlier than hoped.
For those who have gone to 5:2 did you put back on some of the initial weight loss? I know some of it will be water from the low carbs.

Babyroobs · 14/09/2021 19:51

I'm one week in today. Have stuck to it well but have felt seriously irritable and grumpy to the point I had to apologies to work colleagues and explain that I thought lack of carbs was the reason ! Had to go to the chip shop tonight for the rest of the family and that was torture. I'm not weighing myself until I feel I have lost a significant amount as I am just so overweight it will upset me if i know exactly what I weight.

headintheproverbial · 14/09/2021 19:52

I'd like to join! I lost a good amount to weight earlier in the summer then with hols and 2 x family birthdays with cake I've gone off the rails. Starting back again on Monday.

I found 2 x 400cal meals was the way forward for me, no breakfast (so basically doing 16/8).

Backtoblack1 · 14/09/2021 19:58

How is everyone? I’ve gone up to 1000 cals today. Am due on so feeling quite weak atm. Lost 1.5lbs when I got on scales this morning. Gonna do 2 x 400 meals on weekend. Need 3 meals when in work x

glomerulus · 14/09/2021 20:58

Good luck @headintheproverbial and well done @Babyroobs and @Backtoblack1. A trip to the chip shop is a special form of torture! I still salivate over buttery toast...

@Chunkymonkey123 you've done really well so far and there's no reason you shouldn't keep losing on the 5:2 if you want to switch over, just at a lower rate. The recipe book gives suggestions for non-fast day alterations that are still low-ish carb and follow the same principles like high fat and lots of veg, which is what I'm aiming for when I switch over next week. I think I accept that white bread/rice/pasta etc are out for the foreseeable though if I want to keep losing, and then only in moderation when I want to maintain.

Doing ok here, got a couple of cheat days planned in this week for social reasons but happy that I haven't fallen off the wagon at all so far. Will do my final weigh in next Monday.

PiffleWiffleWoozle · 16/09/2021 21:23

Can I join too please?

I’m on day 4 of week 1 and lost 4.5lbs so far.

The food is so yummy!

glomerulus · 17/09/2021 12:41

Well done @PiffleWiffleWoozle that's a great start! Yes it's delicious, leftover rendang for lunch today.

@LittleSF I had the weird dip in ketones this week too and back up again, no idea what that's about! You must be near the end of your fast 800 now, hope its going well.

LittleSF · 17/09/2021 13:57

Hey @glomerulus I’m at the end of week 4 and am 2lbs away from moving onto 5:2 so one more week of Fast 800 for now. Looking forward to a glass of red wine and some dark chocolate at some stage in the next few weeks. Still enjoying the food a lot, feeling great and sleeping well, but weight lost stuck the last 10 days. Advice is to drink lots and lots of water and just keep going. Will let you know if it starts to budge.

glomerulus · 18/09/2021 08:21

Hi @LittleSF, I suspect I will be in a similar position on Monday regarding weight loss, there's a definite plateau. I think I'm going to bring in a few non fast days regardless, on the basis that I should still lose some weight with intermittent fasting, just more slowly, which I'm fine with. The early loss of a stone has certainly spurred me on! Hope things pick up for you in the next few days.
