Good call, thanks. I have babybel to hand and will get me to Aldi next week.

ChocEggNoThanks · 17/05/2018 10:35

Bear we need pics of the finished gold biccies! I admire your restraint- if I made 100 cookies on a Tuesday I reckon about 40 of them would survive till the Friday 😁

1.75lbs off this morning so I crossed the magic stone off - 15lbs down! So grateful for this thread it's been so lovely and supportive so thank you all. I honestly can't believe I have made it nearly 4 weeks. It sounded really hard but it's mostly doable. I didn't get on with 5:2 at all - 500 cals was just too low- But this is really working.

ChocEggNoThanks · 17/05/2018 10:40

Ps I had a lovely hotch potch dinner last night. 2 Quorn sausage patties, 2 soft boiled eggs, asparagus, 2 dark rye ryvita and 25g of applewood cheese. It was lush and felt like a total feast! About 460 cals but well worth it. Eating like this makes you much more open minded with meals and what makes a meal 😊

Snowglobes · 17/05/2018 10:47

Just had a lovely dog walk = 😇
At coffee shop had peppermint tea = 😇
Noticed cake samples = 🤔
Ate 4 samples = 😱
Crikey they were gorgeous!!!!!!!

Snowglobes · 17/05/2018 10:49

chocegg 15lbs in 4 weeks is mind blowing!! Well done you! Very impressive.

ChocEggNoThanks · 17/05/2018 10:56

Thanks Snow. I do have a lot to lose - I want to get another stone and a half off but really I should be aiming for two and a half more for BMI 25. I can live with BMI 27 as I like the way I look and feel at that weight. If I lose more than that I think I will have lots of loose skin and I'm getting too old to get away with it.

Heismyopendoor · 17/05/2018 11:39

Decided why wait for tomorrow and starting today instead :)

Going to make some soup from a recipe on the BSD website for my lunch

thenewaveragebear1983 · 17/05/2018 17:27

Not my finest work, but I’m pretty much losing the will to live now! I’ve iced about half and will do the other 50 later!

I ran 5km on my lunch break between exams today, then ate a massive salad. Sampled a teeny spoon of icing for quality control purposes only. Dc having sausages for tea but I don’t really fancy it, so I might just wait and see how I feel later.

Oblomov that pic rings true! The other thing I do, is move the scales about the floor because there can be 0.5lbs of difference depending on where they are.

Well done Choc . Star

I was out for lunch today. We always go to the same cafe and it has no salads only carb heavy options so it isn't ideal. I ended up having half a baked potato. On the plus side, I've walked a bit more today and I've lost 2.2lbs since last Thurs.

Heismyopendoor · 17/05/2018 19:21

Some advice please, I started today and have only had 300 calories. At the moment I’m not hungry, should I eat the other 500 even though I’m not actually hungry?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 17/05/2018 19:33

Heismy I personally would eat some of them, not necessarily all if you’re genuinely not hungry. It never seems to bode well to ‘bank’ too many calories, as you need the fat to keep you on track and also to keep your metabolism up. Otherwise it becomes an unhealthily low calorie diet.

Hello everyone and welcome heismyopendoor, it sounds like you're off to a good start.

bear the cookies look good. We have a school garden party tomorrow but I'm out on a trip with a small group so will miss most of it. Today I was given a cupcake as it was a Reception child's birthday so I gratefully accepted it and then put it in the bin in my office, not even a sniff or a lick!

choc you're doing great, I bet you can really feel the difference in your clothes. I have a pair of slim Next work trousers that used to be too tight on the left calf and now they are just fine - a strange place to lose weight from, but they are now much more wearable.

I'm 2.5 weeks in and have lost 4.1 kg (9lbs), which I'm really pleased with. 12 days until I go to Dubai and things still don't fit as well as I'd like them to, but I'm on the way.

btw, does anyone have a good chia seed recipe?

ponygirlcurtis · 17/05/2018 22:33

That's great going, fish.

I closed the kitchen on day 5, really pleased with myself for sticking to it all week. And having 5 wine-free days! Across the 5 days I have averaged 900 calories so happy with that.

PrimalLass · 18/05/2018 09:47

Morning all

Very behind with this thread because of stupid work and a full brain. But the whoosh fairy who visited me on Wednesday changed her mind, and brought back the 3lb she took away. Cheers for that Angry

B: 2 x boiled eggs as usual
L: a small burger and salad
D: steak and asparagus

kumamon · 18/05/2018 10:06

Thanks Dandelion for your reply too (sorry for the delay in replying!) - that's really useful to hear you found it worth doing. I haven't decided yet - I've ordered the book, so I'll look through it and then decide one way or another. I tried my wedding dress on again yesterday, so got another motivational boost to really make this work!

ATurnipOfMyOwn · 18/05/2018 11:16

Another 2lbs off for me - that's 12lbs in 10 days. I had a mad day yesterday, barely ate anything because I was busy with work stuff and ending with an event at my son's school which didn't finish until gone 10pm, so I had 3 falafel and a cup of tea when I got home and still only clocked up 546 calories. And that included a very small (stingy PTA measure) glass of prosecco. Will try to eat better today.

So when's this whoosh thing going to happen then? I've lost nearly a stone and still look like a badly-stuffed mattress. I'm sure my belly is even flabbier than before. How can this be?

Heismyopendoor · 18/05/2018 11:20

That’s brilliant Turnip well done :)

I’ve no advice about the woosh thing but you are doing great

thenewaveragebear1983 · 18/05/2018 12:11

Well done turnip. I don’t know about the whoosh thing but all I do know is that suddenly you’ll look in the mirror and be ‘ooooh, that bit looks thinner’. Once the internal fat has gone it does seem to go from all over.

I’ve just run 10k to pre-empt the summer Fayre and evening meal tonight at my in-laws. And all the wine I need to drink to get over the horrors of a primary school fete.

Busy weekend ahead for us, friends party on Saturday and family do on Sunday. Beautiful weather forecast too. Lovely salads and bbq food though, very BSD friendly.

APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 18/05/2018 15:26

turnip I only ever had whooshes after plateaux. My shape changing was more gradual and checking my measurements helped me to keep track even when I couldn't see a difference.

veryveryquietly · 18/05/2018 15:29

So many good losses, hurrah!

Fake, I like the Cathedral City mini cheddars even better than Babybels as snacks - they taste more...cheddary, would you believe. Have saved my butt many a time from destructive snacking.

Speaking of which, have alternated good days and evil snacktacular days all week, and no surprise, have been hovering around the same place on the scale. Am really hoping I can do better when work slows down a little.

Am also filled with dread: going over to a friend's for dinner tomorrow and I know they are making risotto. My goal is to eat only a tiny bit of that and much more of everything else. Hopefully the rice won't trigger a massive carb binge, or turn me into the Hulk or something.

bridgetreilly · 18/05/2018 17:20

I've used the Cathedral City cheddar snack bars for super-easy lunches. One of those, some nuts and an apple. Done.

Haberpop · 18/05/2018 17:36

I am down to 12st 2lb, I was 12st 10 last Thursday.

PrimalLass · 18/05/2018 17:42

That's brilliant.

I need to use al these losses as inspiration as I've been fairly plateaued since the end of week 1.

Definitely getting smaller though.

Fakeplasticcheese · 18/05/2018 19:22

Mmm cathedral city - good call. My evening of exercise on day 2 went well. I was hungry so had a babybel before I set off but once I was into it everything was fine for 2+ hours of cycling + sport. Got home and had a delicious mushroom omelette. Food tastes SO GOOD on this diet. Day 3 for me has also been successful so far. I don't know why I put this off for so long, it's far less daunting once you just get started. No headaches for me this time either, though I have very much upped my water intake. Cannot wait to get back into my lovely clothes.

veryveryquietly · 18/05/2018 19:32

Part of my problem with Babybels is that I can't eat them without thinking of . But I do think they taste better and more like grown-up cheese. Especially with some roasted almonds...

Speaking of which, I have nearly a kilo of almonds to be roasted. I like to roast them at home with salt, olive oil, and whatever spices I feel like. I think tonight's option will be fajita spice. Yum yum yum. Fajitas = best food ever, tortilla not even needed.
